Multiple Cameras for multiple players?

Archive: 3 posts

I'm making a sackbot arena game and I want players to jump in a controlinator with the color frequency as the sackbot, and have the the camera focus on that sackbot for that player only. I've tried many things, but can't get it to work.
Help?

The only way you can really do this is to have the controlinator mounted on invisible holo that follows the sackbot - then you can have a game camera that stays focused on that individual player.2011-05-31 16:53:00

Is this a versus level?

If so, you can use the hologram follower method so the player actually goes with the sackbot. You'll put your controlinator transmitter on a piece of hologram that you set to 0% brightness. On the sackbot's circuit board, you'll put a tag labeled "sackbot 1" (since you'll need one for each player). Then on the controlinator circuit board (on the invisible hologram), you put a follower set to the highest speed and detection radius and a gyroscope. On the follower, make sure you turn the minimum following radius to 0 and set it to "detect tag" of the same color and name as the tag on the sackbot (so "sackbot 1").

This will cause the camera to follow the player (who is following the sackbot around) creating the illusion that the camera is really following the sackbot.

If it's not a versus level, then there's no way to have the camera follow different players. They all have to be on the screen together.
