Level comment's

Archive: 7 posts

Well um I kind of started this To see what people think the level comment part of LBP is there for ?

Is it there for us to only write a helpful tip to the builder of the level?

Or is it there for us to be able to leave a comment about what we like or dislike about a level or even what we think of the level in general ?

You see I rarely leave a comment on a level and when I do. It seam's I never get it right and the creator ends up having something to say to me.

My theory is I'm only leaving a comment to tell other player's what I think of it .. I'll write something small too so it can be read while the level is loading .

Now is this wrong?

To describe a level as "very simple logic" if that is what stand's out to me from the level?

It seems to me that everyone uses the comment section a little differently. There's really no rule book on it, so anything you want to write is fair game, but most people that use it just advertise their levels there.

As for the uses simple logic comment. That's fine, but there is nothing wrong with a level just because it uses simple logic. Some of the best levels use hardly any logic at all.

I use it for example to report bugs, because the reviews aren't listed chronologically, so the creator probably won't see it.2011-05-30 14:50:00

I dont use it much anymore. Sometimes I use it to say "Hey I got a score of 120" But I now use the review.2011-05-30 14:59:00

TBH, I wish more people would use the comment box. Review box for reviews, comment box for everything else.
"Herp derp, i liked dis" is not a review.

Personally, I use the comment box for anything and everything - Re-publish info if it's my own level, minor issues, general opinions, whatever, really.

After a level has 200+ reviews it seams the only way for your opinion to be seen is to leave it in the comment. Reviews are so scattered. I'm not sure I like the system. Maybe a system where the player can pick 5 reviews to shoot to the top and the rest can stack like comments. This might influence lengthier reviews. Idk just thinking outloud ;:^D2011-05-30 15:58:00

^^ This. It's up to the community to rate reviews, and the most favorable will bubble to the top (or so I recall.) The problem is, most people don't do this.

You're doing it wrong.

Comments are fine for one-line opinions, as far as I'm concerned... but a full-fledged review should be left for the actual review section, even if it is buried below 199 others. The creator should be able to see this in their feed regardless.
