when making a square like a house how do you make a door without it removing the whole piece instead of the doorway?(how to cut center piece out with out removing the whole side? Hope im not confusing?.. trying to make a house you can walk through instead takes out half of the side peice instead of a small section for a door way. Any suggestions? I'm new to this game.2011-05-30 02:15:00

Instead of using a three-layer thick piece of material, separate it into one-layer thick pieces in front of one another. This way you can edit each individual piece without interfering with the other layers.

Hope that points you in the right direction.

If I'm understanding correctly, I'll explain what's happening.

LBP has 3 main thick layers where your sackboy can move about, along with 4 thin layers (one front, one back and one in between each thick layer). What I presume you're doing is placing a long block that spans the 3 think layers, and to then remove a section of the middle thick layer, and wanting to know if you can do this? In a word, no, you can't. The way the game works is that it won't allow you to edit a single layer of a multilayer object. By a multilayer object I mean one that is physically spanning more than one layer, no glue or rods involved, just one physical object. Whatever changes you make to one layer will also be applied to every other layer.

To solve your problem you need to divide your wall into three separate parts - one for each layer and then glue these sections together. It may seem odd, but you get used to it, it's just a fundamental concept LBP uses regarding its three layer system.
