I need help with a part of my FPS?

I need help creating an ammo and reloading system in my FPS. I need to make a ammo count in the bottom right corner visible somewhere and make it so you have to reload when it runs out (and can't still shoot while reloading!) Can anyone help me please? | 2011-05-29 20:17:00 Author: Unknown User |
I'm not an FPS guy, but for an easy, not-so-pretty way to do it, set an inverted counter on your HUD, connect the counter's output to your reloading animation and to a timer set for the amount of time you want your reloading animation to be. Connect the timer to the reset input of the inverted counter and timer. When the inverted counter drains, it will run the reloading animation. When the timer reaches the end, it will reset the inverted counter and timer, allowing you to continue shooting until the clip runs out again. To disable the shooting, connect whichever wires activates the shooting animation to an AND gate, and connect a NOT gate to the other input of the AND gate. Connect the inverted counter to the NOT gate. This way, whenever you run out of ammo, one input of the AND gate is turned off, therefore disabling the shoot ability. Thanks! How would I make crosshairs?!? You've been big help! Edit, I tried what you said to stop the shooting when reloading but it doesn't work! Could you come to my level and help out?
