Really nice original level.
Lots of clever platform ideas but what makes it really standout is the artisitc qualities and unique designs used. No lazy imitation of an existing story level theme, instead a complete world filled with creatures and one of the most beautiful cave/grotto backgrounds I've seen in a long while. The sack eating plants with the bounce pads were great fun and the world below stunnning.
one problem I did encounter was a moving carriage device containing bounce pads which helps you cross the gas covered river, when I fell off I died and respawned on the far bank of the river but the carriage didn't return.
Thanks for a great level.

I enjoyed playing. Beautiful scenery, a few original ideas, not too heavy nor too light level. I always feel sadness when a good level like this is underplayed. My congratulations on the good work.

If you have 5 minutes, please play my versus level Mad house (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=56662-Mad-House) LBP.me (http://lbp.me/v/z4bz-y)

Hey Kendra! Really awesome visuals! You've got a lot of stuff we've never seen, I like that. You've been working on this for a long time now, glad to see it out there. Also the icon is magnificent! Really captures your attention early. I had a good time playing this 2011-05-31 22:45:00

Hey there, played your level. Was really impressed. However, I did find one bug near the end. During the moving platform (with the wheel) part I was killed and the checkpoint didn't register so I re spawned back on the land. But the problem was that I couldn't finish the level (for a second time) because the moving platform wasn't there anymore...
All in all, fantastic level, plus lots of originality with different artistic themes throughout.

If you have a few minutes please try out my level : Technological Endeavours (http://lbp.me/v/0jx-87)
It's my first level and I'd like to know what I should improve on and if there are any annoying bugs

i just played your level.
really nice unique visuals all the way around. Even though it was a bit short it didnt detract from the experience. one thing it was a bit difficult to bounce onto the moving platform just before the end due to some of the foreground in the way.
overall good job on this one.
if u get a chance check out my level " Nature's Solitude " where it is more of a visual treat with some platfroming bits in as well.

Sorry about the glitch! Im not sure what the problem is the same switch that activates the motor also activates a checkpoint on the moving platform. Im trying to fix =] Ill try your level and leave feedback soon!

I just played this level, and it was a visual masterpiece.

VISUALS:
The level is very artistic thanks to excellent layer glitch, the model of the enemies, and well used materials and decorations. The beginning sort of reminded me of "Super Mario Bros.", while the flytraps are nicely animated.

SOUND:
Great music choices for this level.

GAMEPLAY:
The level has very good use of bounce pads, paintinator, and grappling hook. The cog machine ride at the end of the level is a lot of fun. I think what needs to be changed in this level is the teleport where you should change it to controlinator teleport instead of teleport death, but the rest of the level has great platforming and I don't see any bugs.

OVERALL:
Great job and congrats on the spotlight. A yay, heart, and positive review.

Apologies for not getting to this sooner, and thank you for your kind words about my first level (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=57390-Miserable-Flying-Weather-My-First-quot-real-level). It's pretty inspiring to have people like yourself think my work is half decent, as I am getting a little unsure of how to proceed and create even better levels.

Once I have gotten the bugs out of my stage, I'll have to look into more of your work because it is so unique!

Your level is an amazing Burtonesque wonderland. It's very original and detailed and feels like a fully realised cohesive world.

I was really impressed with the enemy design as well as the bounce pads in the first part.

I would have liked to see some more of these creatures wandering around, maybe some smaller ones.

At the part where you swing over the pit and collect the paint gun I jumped into the pit and the respawn from the tree was really well placed, however I had to backtrack a little to pick up the grapple to get across the pit.

An interesting thing about your entire stage is the lack of direction, starting with being stuck in the box, and then having to drop the paintinator to go through the archway. The reason it's interesting is that it all makes sense because of your camera techniques and while I didn't have a problem with them some players might have issues.

I don't know if it is worth while, but maybe have a player sensor on a timer that will open the box for you as well as activate the gate. Give it enough time for the player to work out but then it looks after you. You could give a small bonus if you do it before the game takes over.

The next part was also quite amazing with the way that you have spaced and set up the timing of the plants. It seems dangerous but not so much that you don't feel that you shouldn't try to bounce around for a few more point bubbles.

The underground caverns were so well done I had to stop and try and your out what decorations you used. The mushrooms were very clever. I actually stopped playing on several occasions to look at you decorations. The flowers with the curved black feathers were also quite smart.

The steampunk cog thing was also nice, and I liked the challenge, although the danger toward the end of the ride seemed a little differently themed to the rest of the stage. Which isn't a big deal, just that the cog thing seemed to fit so well with the rest of the stage that the other contraption seemed? off? like it was too clean? Again, I stress, not a big deal.

There is also a visible emitter right at the end of the stage high up on the wall after the line of points. Not sure if that is intentional.

I wish i could take your advice and put it to good use but the level is overheated to the MAX cant add one more thing, not even a sound object or that grapple for the respawn point. Theres a lot more that i wanted to do. Thats why the end seems a little "off" like you said. I wasn't intending on the level ending that way. Thanx for the heads up on the visible emitter i hadn't noticed it!

Luckily you have a great world to expand on... I would love to see more of it! I wouldn't worry too much about the ending. When I do feedback I try really hard to play stupider that I would in reality (like jumping into a pit knowing that I'll die).

But then I also play again and look hard at stuff and think what is its intended use? The last part works well as a platform game and doesn't take away from the enjoyment at all

A beautiful level with some cool and original features. The gameplay was fluid and the aesthetics were awesome. It's great to see a level with such a magical look. The score blocks were a cool feature too, the black boxes contrasted well with the bright surroundings.

Also, following on from JustinArt's suggestion about the teleport - it might be a good idea to destroy the animated (squares) glass when you teleport so that they cannot be seen when the lights are turned off.

Overall a well designed and artistic level that's fun to play.

Thanks for review and thats a good idea! I want to change the teleporter logic into the deathless kind also i think its kind of old fashioned

I actually thought this level was very well thought out, though it did'nt have much variety in platforming, the visuals more than made up for it! Well done!<32011-07-16 01:24:00
