Jump of sackbot

So i know how to make the sackbot do a double jump also how to make him able to jump of walls like ninja

the problem is that I make the double jump chip resets with an impact sensor so that you can't do infinite jumps in the air
And the ninja jump is only able when you are in impact so now as long as the sackbot touches the wall he can do infinite jumps HELP

Isn't that a good thing? I mean, wouldn't you want your ninja to be able to jump from wall to wall in a narrow corridor, all the way up to the roof? I can imagine some great action with that and I would love to play that.

Or is the problem that the bot can jump straight up without limit as long as he is standing still against a wall? Here is a theory to fix that: use two 1-shot counters, one for left and one for right movement; when player moves to the left, counter A gets triggered and B reset. Vice versa for counter B when moving to the right. With these counters in place you can now determine what was the last direction the player was moving in. When the bot hits a wall, instead of just a jump, now a jump plus a direction is required to make a new jump: the opposite direction one was moving in before hitting the wall.

This should enable jumping between two opposite walls and prevent a player from standing still against a wall. It might be challenging gameplay, but you'll have to tweak that as you see fit.

The best thing to do is have your impact sensors be set to a specific tag, say "floor" and "wall". Then all you have to do is place those tags on the floors and walls to reset the sackbot actions accordingly.2011-05-27 15:49:00
