Spot the Differences!

Archive: 6 posts

This is a versus game based on the well-known game we've all seen before, only with a LittleBigPlanet twist! It's quite simple, there are two scenes, each identical except for eight differences; all you have to do is find them? It's playable by yourself, but take some friends along to ramp it up a bit. As a Vs. Level, only the first person to click difference gets the points.

There are three stages, each with eight differences. To "spot" them, just hover your cursor over it and press X. Keep in mind though, once your press X, you can't press it again for two seconds, so moving around the level spamming X isn't your best option. You have 60 seconds per stage to find as many "differences" as you can, or at least more than your friends?

I should add that this isn't my level, but I did most of the logic work, so I didn't think it fit to put it in the recommendations forum. Also, it's not F4F, but don't be afraid to mention your level here; either the author or myself (or both) will try our best to give it a spin and give you some feedback.

Anyway, I hope you'll take a few minutes to give this a shot (3 stages with a 1 minute timer = a 3 minute level ) and maybe even try it a few times to see if you can spot all the differences. Good luck, have fun, and thanks for checking this out!

I'm going to post a few pictures, but obviously we can't show much without giving anything away?

Hi,

played you level earlier, I have recently played a number of quite different levels for sackboy, yours being one of the better ones..
Thought it was slick and tidy, a simple concept but seemed to work well...

you could just click around anywhere and land on a difference so maybe devise a points deduction for each incorrect click.

you might want to make this a F4F as more people would visit, play and leave you feedback..

cheers.

Thanks for giving it a go. Right now there is a delay on the clicking to prevent spamming, but the point penalty is a great idea and will be implemented in any future iterations of the game. We really wanted to add more stages, but the level can last up to 3 minutes, and that's a little long for the attention spans of the average LBP player. I hope to be able to add a system that allows there to be more stages, but have it so the player can quit and tally their scores at any time, or even a level select. We'll see, but first, the "art department" needs to come up with some new scenarios.

On a side note, the level has peaked on the first page of the cool levels, and I'm not sure how many people from here tried and positively reviewed the game in its infancy over the weekend, but for those that did, I can't thank you enough. The gal who actually made the bulk of the artwork and published the level was just in awe that it did so well, so for anyone here that had anything to do with it, and for anyone who has ever taught me anything on this site, thank you very much.

Thanks for trying it. I always liked the idea of the game in LBP cuz using motion and pseudo-3D seemed like it would be fun. And yeah, it was quite short, but that was for several reasons. First, making the 3 completely unrelated scenes uses a lot of materials and therefore a lot of thermo. Second, my logic was really, really inefficient. I've come up with a much better system going forward. And finally, we were worried that after so many levels, people would get tired of it and quit, and leave a bad review. I'd rather have a second level so people could voluntarily play more if they wanted more instead of forcing it on them.

Either way, we're hoping to get more stages up soon.
