Image inappropriate?

Archive: 8 posts

Hi,

I'm posting this out of frustration cause i just received an email from scee.net.

It's in french so i'm giving you a rough translation: "Your PSN account has been suspended for one week due to a violation of the terms and conditions you agreed: Image innapropriate."

What the hell is this? I Never had an inappropriate image, the only thing i think this could be was when a random guy that stalked me (i've been mmpicked so i have many lol) was showing me a pic of 2 sackboys in a rer position, with one sackboy's face near the other sackboy's butt. That was just a picture from the game and it came from his popit! I'm not even sure that's what they are talking about... I've been a big fan of LBP2 and the community. Like said previously one of my levels got mmpicked so it shows my commitment to this game and this is how Sony thanks me? This is really disappointing, I was making a sequel to my level but i'm about to leave it as it is. But this message is not about my level. It's about the fact that i don't get why i got banned and to post on sony's website, i need to log in, wich is impossible because it's suspended. IS there someone here from MM that could help me out? I don't want this to happen again. Are complaints from other gamers even checked out? Or are they blocking randomly??

If you still have this random guy's PSN ID you could always file a complinat against him in the 'good grief' option in the game and to scee.net? I'm not sure how it works but I know you submit complaints. They then get flagged and if more similar complaints come in from others, then they'll get banned too. You never know this person may have done this to others. So it's worth reporting once your account is no longer banned.

As you can't login to Sony websites you'll have to wait it out until you can use the grief reporting: https://secure.eu.playstation.com/psn/support/grief-reporting/or look around their forums to see if there are any links you can use.

Or you could try calling them about it, but from what I've read Sony's customer service is not great. But as it's your first time I've also read that they may just give you a warning instead and sort it out for you (from other forums).

maybe someone posted a picture of something"inapropreate" (god, i hate that word) on one of your levels, and as such, people were submitting grief about your channel.2011-05-26 16:14:00

Actually that's a good point. I never thought about that. Why on earth would someone want to do that anyway. It's just stupid and ruins it for others.

On May 22nd, A sunday. Me (username : TrashMustache), and my friend StinkinMushroom were having fun in HIS pod sticking funny stickers everywhere and all that good stuff, when a user by the name xXFUNMODZXx and ANOTHER user joined us. at some point xXFUNMODZXx popped out a picture depicting a sackboy sniffing another sackboy's ... you know what.

A few days later StinkinMushroom got banned from PSN FOR 7 Days, and I'm guessing that was the reason. Now His MM PICKED LEVEL "Madness Is An Option", My level "Madness is an Option OST" and my other level "Idiosync" have been erased from little big planet, not te be found on LBP.me either.

All these levels still exist in our moons, but when we enter (even levels i've never even published) we are greeted with a message saying that something in this level is being moderated and that It cannot be published or played in with other players until this is adressed. We've checked our levels for inapropriate content and there's none te be found.

Me and StinkinMushroom are very confused and sad to have spend months, thousands of hours creating just to be banned this way for no particular reason, that's why i have a few questions.

Q1: When StinkinMushroom recieved a message from Sony informing him of the 7 day ban, why weren't they specific about the content that got him banned, why is he left to guess what the content was?

Q2 : If xXFUNMODZXx flashes an inapropriate picture in StinkinMushroom's pod, why is StinkinMushroom banned? Is it because the system only recognizes where it happens and not who breaks the rules?

Q3: Why didn't we receive a mail saying that our levels have been erased and that they are being moderated? Is it because when a user simply pressses SELECT to file a complaint it automatically erases levels for moderation? If that's the case, does the person who filed the complaint get off the hook that easily?

Q4: Who adresses the moderation, Is Media Molecule going to moderate these levels or do we have to take out the (in this case non-existant) "obscene" content ourselves?

Q5: After moderation, can we publish our levels with the stats intact? Or does everything start from scratch?

A sackperson's pod is their own private domain. Sony aren't psychic and they don't have CCTV installed in your pod, so there would be no way they could know that somebody was in there showing you their sordid butt-sniffing pics. The only way you would get in trouble for such an image would be if you uploaded it to the servers, or if you/somebody else placed it in a published level.2011-05-27 16:16:00
