Collect insane score multipliers, scale a massive waterfall, explore the damp crystal caves, bounce to unbelievable heights, and venture across the most poorly built bridge in craftworld!!! This is... I managed to get the 7500 minutes in create mode pin as I was making this. http://lbp.me/v/0hfvpp | 2011-05-25 02:41:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
Great level. The environments are gorgeous and the platforming is perfect. Really polished. However I feel it would make the level a bit more fun if you added a few checkpoints. Also, once or twice I fell all the way down the level and activated a checkpoint forcing me to climb all the way back up. Also, It wasn't really apparent at first that the player was supposed to fall after the final bounce pads, and a couple of times i fell and just died and had to climb back up to the bounce pads. Other then that great job! If you could play my new level Emeria (thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=56855-Emeria&p=853199) / lbp.me (http://lbp.me/v/yzfc42)) and leave some feedback in my thread that would be great. Thanks for your level! | 2011-05-25 04:58:00 Author: Unknown User |
I added a couple more checkpoints to the level, including the first cave area. I added more checkpoints to the waterfall area to make it less likely that you will fall and activate another checkpoint. I added more point bubbles to make the ending more obvious. Point bubbles lead to and from the final bounce pads to help guide the path to the scoreboard. I have recieved only 5 plays, and already a troll "Boo"ed my level... i checked his account, and he only hearts "Shark Survival" levels....go figure... | 2011-05-25 07:19:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
Hi Nick, Nice looking screenshots, I have this queued for later. Cheers. | 2011-05-25 09:51:00 Author: Flatbadger Posts: 68 |
Checked out your level today. As the title suggests a bubble collecting fest through a verdant setting. Loved the use of bounce pads and bubble paths to drive the action, seemed to be lots of replay value in what appears to be a mulit-route level, incrasing exploration and experimentation to achieve a higher score. My favourite part was when you encounter the sackbot still working away on the bridge, this area contrasted nicely to the green flowery are which is becoming very ubiquitous on levels at the moment, it seems every other level I play nowdays opts for this theme. Good well consider gameplay. | 2011-05-25 11:39:00 Author: EnochRoot Posts: 533 |
any screenshots? I added to queue already, but would be nice to see a couple of screenshots. | 2011-05-25 13:17:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
I loved it, particularly the sackbot hard at work. :-) My only criticisms would be that a lot of the jumping needs to be really precise, which isn't really Sackboy's strong point. I'd suggest removing the slippery material from large parts of the bridge, as this would make it easier and more fun. Also the falling at the end still isn't well signposted. A couple of times I fell off and died. The third time I fell off and lived, but I couldn't see what I'd done differently! Maybe if you had a sackbot at the top telling you to make a leap of faith or something? However, even with these criticisms it was really good fun. It looks gorgeous, I loved the multiple paths and the fact it was pure platforming action, with humour throughout. Plus the bridge itself is a work of demented genius. :-) Oh, and please play my level Run Away! (http://lbp.me/v/0h-dgz) | 2011-05-25 15:51:00 Author: Corchito Posts: 52 |
any screenshots? I added to queue already, but would be nice to see a couple of screenshots. Um? There's like..4 screenshots in my initial post. Hmm.... Not sure why you can't see them. I see many people are confused about the ending. I thought about having a sackbot tell you what to do but I don't want to add any other sackbots but the one on the bridge for humor purposes. Any other suggestions to make the ending work more fluently? | 2011-05-25 16:29:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
Very nice platformer although i could'nt finish it as i found it quite difficult though i'm rubbish st platformers it tookme six months to win LBP 1. I really like the different paths and the scenery it was quite fulfiling runing and jumping around this level might play it again sometime and maybe give you some proper feedback. I never got to the end but would suggest mayby a large wooden sighn pop up from behind a tree or something that gives a small hint as to where to go. Sometimes a sighn tells all you need to get where you have to go. Nice game. | 2011-05-25 17:03:00 Author: Lordwarblade Posts: 761 |

Sometimes a sighn tells all you need to get where you have to go. Nice game. Actually there are signs at every junction in the level to show where to go. There won't be any signs in areas that are straight up- and- down platforming like the waterfall area however. Thanks for playing anyway! | 2011-05-25 17:10:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
Note: I feel that the ending is not epic enough, I'm going to make adjustments. If you play and wish to review the level, please ignore the ending with the bounce pads. I'm going to change it today. | 2011-05-25 17:11:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
What if you had a clearly visible platform to jump to? The platform could collapse when you land on it, which would lead to the falling bit. That way players would know what was expected of them without having to be explicitly told. A collapsing platform would also tie in nicely with the whole wonky bridge theme. :-) | 2011-05-25 17:11:00 Author: Corchito Posts: 52 |
Yeah exactly, i had a similar idea.. just...imagine a much bigger collapse | 2011-05-25 17:11:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
Hi Nick - just played your level, overall thought it was great! really well detailed with a great reply value as there were multiple ways to go.. nice points fest also.. the bridge section was challenging with a nice touch to mention steve and lock! I found myself at the end of the bridge being boosted up and then missing the last scoreboard platform, landing on the ground and just running until the end... replayed and eventually found the scoreboard. the bridge and end error didnt distract from the gameplay.. lush detail! thanks. | 2011-05-25 18:25:00 Author: Flatbadger Posts: 68 |
Major edit to the level!!! The ending has been redone. Now you must encounter the little sackbot at the end. This will trigger something big You will fall to the scoreboard perfectly everytime. Also, some minor bugs here and there within the actual level have been fixed. | 2011-05-25 20:13:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
I just played your level and loved it a lot! It actually kind of gave me a Crash Bandicoot vibe with those spikes on flipper motion, the slippery slopes, and the "Bridge to Nowhere" type ending, not sure if this was intentional but either way it was awesome. I loved the visuals and the gameplay was great, there was a very good mixup of platforming elements. Normally I try to provide some constructive criticism but the only problem I had before was with the ending, which it looks like you fixed. Great job! If you have the time I'd appreciate it if you could give my level a go: Enigmatic Music Pack (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=56614-Enigmatic-Music-Pack) | 2011-05-26 00:58:00 Author: roflwaffle Posts: 69 |
Lol wow, you're probably the first and most likely the only person to notice that! Yes, i actually based the entire level off of level 3 of Crash Bandicoot one. Well....i started to base it off of that.. then I got bored and started going crazy with bounce pads and stuff to littlebigplanetify it lol. The bridge to nowhere thing was also inspired by crash bandicoot. I got to the top and realized...hmm.. can't go vertical anymore... so lets go HORIZONTAL... and thus.. the rediculous bridge to nowhere was formed. Glad to see you enjoyed it good sir. I shall try your level out | 2011-05-26 02:23:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
Great level Nick. The good: multiple paths=replay value, appealing visuals and fun gameplay, Bubble logo The bad: Nothing really, cept maybe its another jump pad fest. The ugly: Encouraging people to slap innocent sackbots off bridges Highly recommended for score junkies and people seeking multiplier pins! | 2011-05-26 03:15:00 Author: kaiju_kid Posts: 329 |
Thanks for the play m8 | 2011-05-26 12:03:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
Patch 3: -Tweaked the waterfall area. If you fall after activating a new checkpoint, you will die before activating an old checkpoint -Lowered position of point bubbles to allow for greater scoring possibilities -Removed some hidden safe zones among the spikes (you silly sacks ) -Raised the death area near the ending so players aren't falling forever (Done for multiplayer purposes) Note: it's funny to see the few people that "boo" my level are unknown players who have no hearts and tend to heart costume or shark survival levels. And they all have no score for my level which means they got frustrated with actually doing platforming that they didn't like the level... at least don't review the level i mean cmon... ugggh... maybe Little Big Planet 3 will be rated M for mature.. or even adult XD | 2011-05-26 16:48:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
Hi Nick930930, Good level ! It's fun and enjoyable, I loved the platforming elements, lots of bubbles to get. I also liked the multiple paths. The ending was nice and hilarious. The only critisism I have is not really important : I died lost of time in the waterfall, as I did'nt see that I was able to grab the ceilling above the left bouncepad to create the path to continue (not sure if i'm really clear about where it is). I was trying to jump on it with the right bouncepad, and falling constantly. But once I realized I was able to grab the ceilling i realized how silly I was. Overall very good level ! Nice platformer, great ending ! Thanks a lot ! If you have the time to return the F4F, my level link is in my signature (It shouldn't be too long as you already played my level). thanks ! | 2011-05-27 09:42:00 Author: Slurm Posts: 262 |
Thanks for the feedback Slurm. I know exactly what you're talking about. To help prevent this from happening to future players, I'll add an "R1" sticker or somethign to indicate that the bottom of that platform is grabbable. Thanks for the play | 2011-05-28 05:36:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
haha i love it that was so funny and nice to get hight multipliers,i have to say that i love the cool lvls that includes a lot of bubbles, really good job | 2011-05-31 16:06:00 Author: xkjz3l Posts: 113 |
I played the level before changes and now again. Obviously a great deal was made and the level now looks fantastic, although I was lost in the up - down - left and right directions, but it's obviously been the intention. Great and fun level. Congratulation on the spotlight ! And, if you have 5 minutes, please play my versus level Mad house (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=56662-Mad-House) LBP.me (http://lbp.me/v/z4bz-y) | 2011-05-31 18:12:00 Author: goranilic Posts: 332 |
Wow, there were quite a number of platforming elements you incorporated that was a lot of fun to play with; I liked the option of giving multiple pathways for players to explore throughout the level! I thought the ending was quite humorous as well, but I felt bad for slapping the poor guy off... XD You even got the attention of Lockstitch! By the way when I got to the first set of rotating platforms, there was a point in which I kept getting hit by invisible gas every time I tried to jump onto the bounce pad situated right above that first rotating platform. That wasn't there the first time I played though, so I'm not sure what triggered it this time. Congrats on the Spotlight by the way | 2011-05-31 19:44:00 Author: Qrii_Nakari Posts: 204 |
Agh another gas glitch? This happened in my other level. I'll take a look and see what could have happened. Soudns to me like you triggered the gas without triggering the accompanying checkpoint therefore getting stuck underneath the out-of-bounds area. eeeeasy fix | 2011-05-31 23:30:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
