Demitting and Molding effect

Archive: 2 posts

Hi there, I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with how to make a demitter (there is a cool tutorial level by rtm223 which is where I learned about it, also it deals with remitters) but there a few things you may have missed.
These are just examples to show the concept.
1. Standard demitter example - Create an emitter (emitting a block in this example) and a button in your testing area. Attach the button to the emitter with the input action set to emit once and set replace oldest to yes. Emit one block from the emitter. You can now place that block anywhere in your level. Hit the button and the block returns to the original emitted position. This can also serve as a one time teleport. Pretty cool huh.
2. Molding example - repeat example one until the step where you emit the block. Now that it is in the level, it can be corner edited or attached to other objects (also a cool effect for making things fall). So you could turn your square block into a pentagon. Think about a conveyor belt style effect, you drag your pentagon over to one side and your square block will be emitted out of the other. A cool effect, which requires basically no logic and only one emiiter.

hunh? i'm an idiot when it comes to text tutorials. "Attach B to E"? is that button to emitter? What's "IA"?
