When was the last time you used it,,,that what happens when the battery has no charge? I assume you tried turning it on with the power cord plugged in as well? | 2011-05-24 16:20:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
When was the last time you used it,,,that what happens when the battery has no charge? I assume you tried turning it on with the power cord plugged in as well? The last time I played it was last nite but it still had an almost full battery left and when you turn it on with no charge it just flashes an icon and then your psp shuts down | 2011-05-24 16:26:00 Author: aceofthorns Posts: 288 |
When a PSP hasn't been used for months nothing happens when you turn it on...but since you used it last night that's obviously not your issue, the battery shouldn't be completely drained. If using the power cord doesn't help...try it plugged in with the battery removed. I have every model PSP...but I've never had one die so I really don't know. I'd just do a google search for "PSP won't turn on"...your case probably isn't unique. | 2011-05-24 16:40:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |

This happened to me the other week, it turns out my charger had broken and my psp had been accidently been left on standby so the power had all gone aswell. Nothing was happening when you turned it on. Before saying that your psp is broken, try: 1: A friends battery in your psp to see if it's the battery 2: Check another friends charger to see if it charges your PSP Mine was resolved by using someone elses charger, I didn't know what was up with it untill I tried that. And if it is the battery/and or charger and you plan on buying a new one, be 100% careful not to buy crappy dud ones, Ive read a lot of articles and reviews off people from the internet saying that they stop working after about a month or two. I bought a "genuine" psp charger off ebay, Im sure that the person that sold it to me sent me a dodgey one. His advert actually said one psp charger, what came was a genuine BROKEN psp charger (a prong had snapped off) and a fake charger. I emailed him saying youve sent me a broken psp charger, and his response was "It probably broke whilst being distributed", but why the hell would he send two? Im pretty sure that he sent a bbroken one. Anyway, just giving you some experience with buying psp chargers, theirs a lot of fake ones knocking around, just giving you the heads up if it turns out to be the battery. Good luck!! | 2011-05-25 20:48:00 Author: dbibby88 Posts: 378 |
Yeah, my roomie and I had the exact same problem and it turned out to be the charger cable. I now have two spares, both of which are USB to DC adapters, and one of which also acts as a USB connector. They're both GameStop store brand, in order to replace one that got over a year of very hard use before crapping out on us. I figure a year's worth of use is okay, but a year of near-constant use, being stuffed into pockets, thrown in my backpack, etc, on a literal daily basis is much better than "okay." | 2011-05-27 00:58:00 Author: BlackWolfe Posts: 299 |
i know everything is peachy now, but you obviously don't know what a brick is... a brick is when your psp will not boot, but it will turn on. this usually happens because either: a) your system data is corrupted. b) you tried to downgrade your psp with a homebrew application, that didn't support your psp model c) your battery is faulty (a pandora battery does this as well, but it will boot if you press the right key combination... but only to install cfw, and then shut down) to fix a brick, you need to either: a) use a card reader to find the problem, and fix it (hard, and some knowledge of psp architecture needed) b) use the key combination square+triangle+start+select while turning on, this will reset the system files to last written (i.e. reinstall the last fw) c) use a pandora battery to install cfw, this will also un-brick a psp in the process (needed for seriously F'ED up cases) d) get a new battery so please don't get the things mixed up -_- | 2011-05-27 06:53:00 Author: theswweet Posts: 2468 |
