Increasing the amount of images that can be added to blogs

Archive: 13 posts

Greetings. I enjoy blogging on this site. I'll often write 2 pages a day 4-5 times a week.

I'll use smilies a lot as well to express the emotions I am trying to convey while I blog.

The last entry I wrote though hit the image limit of 10 per post. Is it possible to review that number for people writing blogs, or make the pre-built smilies we see on this site not count to that limit?

If it helps, you might wanna take some of the smilies and put tags around them.2008-12-09 02:53:00

In regards to your question, the image limit is there for a reason. Sorry, man, but it's gotta stay.

He means tags. Watch:

In raw code, it would look like this:
[noparse]

So a smiley would be... just an ascii smiley, not a fancy image that's used to the right of out editing options. That could be a good way to reduce the amount of images we use without reducing the images we are trying to express.

In light of this, could a noparse option be added to our tools? I can't seem to see it in my short cuts...

It could, but I need to whip up an image to use in the editor first. I'll add it in there tomorrow sometime.

A "rawcode" button has been added to the advanced editor. I changed the bbcode name for easier understanding of it's purpose.2008-12-11 02:38:00

There already is that option. When in advanced replying, before you hit Submit Reply, take a look below that box and you'll see a Miscellaneous Options section, one of which is "Disable smilies in text". Look around, and I'm sure you'll notice lots of other things too.

Wait, so you added the button? Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I thought you weren't able to do that. Wasn't that the issue of not being able to add the tag button for YouTube videos?

Did I say that? I'm sorry, I'm not sure why I did. Well, I've added a YouTube button as well.

From a personal perspective, some of the smilies work better at expressing my emotion than others. I'm not a huge fan of the current poke tongue out:

So there are some I don't really fancy, but others are very cool. I especially like the , it's just a great expression for sarcasm.

Thanks again for listening and adding the feature. It should really help!

On testing though, the button does not seem to quite work. If you quote say this smilie: it does not seem to be turning it a .
