Eviscration (Complete)

Spent abotu 2 and a half weeks doing this, finally done, hope you all like it.

I built this entirely on the concept of gravity, working against it, with it...

All in all, I'd give this level a difficulty rating of.. 1 through 9 out of 10

The first few parts are very easy, but it gets very hard very fast. Luckily, if you don't like hard levels, I've actually adde din the option of giving up and endign the level halfway through, or heading to the uber hard mode for a large amount of bonus points...

BE WARNED: Once you enter the bonus area there is no turning back.

I haven't fully tested the final area, considering it can take anywhere up to half an hour to get to (thats right, half an hour of avid gameplay)

The level still, after all this work, only takes up 3/4 of the thermometer, so if there is enough of a demand, I suppose I my add in a super duped hard bonus round later...

I tried to use the more techno style music, and started you off with thick fog, powerful lights, creating a stylized, otherworldly effect. There are few levels like this, as instead of requiring platforming skills, it requires lots of swinging, patience, precision, and concentration.

I used a lot of different "out of the box" tricks to give you the effect of anti gravity, and if do make a final room, it will most likely involve switching back and forth between anti gravity and super gravity, using which to do battle against some really big boss...

Please respond with your thougths and ideas, and if you find a glitch, I definitly would like to know...



Final note: The long electic shaft with yellow/green lights is possible. There's a secret to doing it. when your sackperson is about to touch an object, he sticks his /hand/foot out or ducks, so you can slide right up to the electric object til he does this, and then you know you're in the right position. This part is meant for the best gamers, so if you can't get through, it's not cause it's impossible, it's cause you're rushing it.

I, the maker of the game, still take 2-3 tries, and 1 try takes a good 5 mins to get through. Very tricky business, but possible.

Going to try this level right now, but your description scares me

EDIT: Got to the red room, this is what I can say so far, AWESOME! The certain feel to it, going from a green color room, to blue, then to red where I must say, is really hard. One problem I found though, easy fix, and I'm not sure how I can explain this to you, but in the red room, at one part, you have the level flipped, hmm how can I say this, the electricity is under you, then you grab the ceiling and pass it, then you get to another sponge where the gravity lifts it so the electricity is on your left, well if you were to fall here, there is no sponge to grab so the level comes back to original ( electricity being on the ground )

I really hope you find this, there is no better way to answer it lol, just search around and look for a spot that might be missing sponge, I'm going for another go btw. I want to beat this!

Well I just finished trying this out and I will be honest: the concept is absolutely brilliant but I feel like the execution is flawed.

First of all it is never really clear where the player needs to go next. I ended up doing the first room 3 times before I figured out that I had to jump straight down and to the right vs down and to the left. There are many ways to fix this but I am sure others had similar problems.

After completing the next room I accidently went back to the first room again. It would be very easy to block the entrance to a room once the player has cleared it to prevent confusion.

The lighting. I am sorry man but choosing the fog filter with all that light is just too much (at least for me) and it literally gave me a headache which prevented me from continuing the level. I know you are going for a certain look but there definitely could be some adjustment here.

The gameplay is the same throughout. Time your jumps perfectly to make it over electrified glass, rinse and repeat. There is so much that can be done with the concept you have and it deserves a lot more.

I did not find it overly challenging but some parts were definitely frustrating. I am being 100% honest here and I hope you appreciate that. Like I said the concept is wonderful and has so much potential and for that reason alone I reccommend that people have a look at this. It did not appear as though anyone has actually finished the level yet which should be a sign that changes need to be made. I appreciate the effort and I hope you create something else using this concept but as is it just wasn't for me (and I am someone who loves a good challenge).

I actually, loved the lighting, I don't know I guess it's an opinion based thing, but the blue room did have some lag.

As for not knowing where to go. I agree, I did the green room twice before noticing you just go right, and after the blue room, I didn't really know I had to go to the red room, Maybe have it so as soon as you spawn, there is a picture above that shows you the order of the rooms, Green --> Blue --> Red.

As for the difficulty, I like it, but I just found another problem, something broke on me, I'm not sure what, it was in the red room again though. Might want to check it out, but I WILL finish this!

Please notice that I am writing this in BIG RED letters, because I found something HUGE, that makes me want to hate you for making the level ( jk of course, but others might not ) Dude, I beat the level, I wanted to try UBER SUPER HARD MODE or whatever it is lol. Ok so here I am, in the dark section first, seemed easy, past it no problem, now comes the bright part, where all the problems came in, Ok so I get my jetpack, which for some reason didn't seem to come on the first try so I died, and when I spawned I had the jetpack on, ok so here I go, carefully moving, avoiding the electric, I get to the top, I thought I was stuck, I was like " No! This can't be it! But I grabbed onto that weird peice of material, PROBLEM 1 : Make it more obvious that this is sponge, I didn't know, because of the lighting, that this was sponge. Ok, so I grabbed it, the level flipped, "Oh no!" I cried, I have to do this again in reverse, ok so I was having a really good time because I LOVE CHALLENGES, so I pass this part, and I reach those spinning electric things, PROBLEM 2 : Please put a checkpoint here, as it is something new and no one knows if they should just fly through or take it slowly. Anyways, I enter the circle, and exit into the second one.

PROBLEM 3. BIGGEST PROBLEM OF ALL, The jetpack, stops here, I couldn't go any more, the jetpack wasn't long enough, YOU MUST, and I mean MUST put another jetpack here, because when I reached here, my jetpack stopped, and I thought hmm, maybe I have to let go, I pressed "Circle" and boom I die, I immediately left since there was no point

I really like this level, it IS the hardest level, yes you heard me right, IS! Not "might be" but "is"

I don't know if you want to take that as a positive comment, or negative, if challenge was what you were aiming for, I applaud you friend. You did it, now fix this so I can finish it! :kz:

I didn't realize that jetpack was too short, omygawsh! D:

Will fix that ASAP.

I'll also add in a 8 life checkpoint right at the beginning of the electric circles, but trust me, when you get to the enxt part, the long tunnel will seem like a cakewalk, the enxt part pits you through a alrge set of inner set rotating circles, all electrified, you gotta book it all the way through or you get creamed by the walls.

I am not able to get on my ps3 asap, but I am going to hunt down and fix this for you.

I'll also add in some doors similiar to the entrance to the red room that close after you finish the room, so you don't accidently repeat rooms.

I'll also go through and trim a bit of the blue lights to lower the lag. If you thought they are laggy now, you should've sene what happened when there were prize bubbles, oh god, the whole game borderline stopped when you popped one XD.

By the way wale, could you tell me what checkpoint in the red room, starting at the first red one, the misisng switch is at? Would make it easier for me ^_^

Also I think I know where the problem is, I'll go take a second look.

Problems fixed so far:

Added in a door to green/blue room that clsoes once you finish the next one, so you don't accidently fall in, or attempt to redo a room.

Extended the jetpack in the tunnel, allowing you to keep going.

Found a hole in the red room, fixed, can't seem to find anymore, but I'll keep looking.

Ummm... Removed soem of the lights from blue room. It still looks the same, but is definitly a lot less laggy =D

Tweaked couple other things, but no big changes... Just changed the color of smoke here and there, tweaked some lights, music, so on... Hard roudn should be physically possible now whale, go ahead =D (good luck O.o
