What a nice thought

I always have trouble making the right thing for players to have fun also The most important thing when I'm playing Community levels is:

#1: People putting in a good amount of Point Bubbles and taking the time to glue them.

#2: People taking time to hide Prize Bubbles good.

#3: When they add little details, they think it won't do much, but it shows dedication and it shows that you actually care about it

#4: As for the basic level; I think a level doesn't need a story to it, because if it has cut-scenes (Speaking as if it were a action-platformer level) It makes it boring. I think the best levels that I have fun in, are plat-formers with jumping, swinging, running, stuff as such as that A good theme, and if they can fit some sort of story into it without making it plain, that's even better But then the amazing levels with so much Logic it blows your mind That's also good too

So overall, my personal thought about it, is that visuals and gameplay are the most important

I think no-matter how mind-blowing the logic might be in a level, if it has crappy visuals then it ruins the whole thing. That's just my opinion.2011-05-21 05:02:00

I'd say vehicles are a huge attraction for me, so I voted for that. I acknowedge that interesting obstructions and contraptions, coupled with attractive environments are massive factors in appealing to most, but I for one, think that Controllinators are absolutely immense, and their use can really make a level feel cool as hell.
Alternatively, funky looking, non-drivable vehicles are also a huge attraction. For instance, on one of the recent MM Picks, 'The Skunk Factory' or something to that effect, before I'd even seen my Sackperson, but just seen the really obscure looking train-thing, I already new I was going to like the level.

That funky looking train thing was epic.

I might hate myself for doing this, but visuals are pretty important and basically decide if I give a or a .2011-05-21 15:47:00

As long as there is a good balance between visuals and gameplay I'm happy.
it's what I strive for in my levels.

(A bit extra detail is preferred though. )

It's not whats on the outside, but whats in the inside that counts.
Gameplay.

As long as it looks or feels like some time and thought went into it I'm pretty easygoing.2011-05-22 08:03:00

It has to be gameplay for me.
I love to see unique gameplay/ levels that stretch the limits of the game.

I refuse to vote as all are impotent, not just one thing.
a good creator knows all most be balanced just right~

I voted for creativity.

Now we're pretty deep in LBP's lifespan, I like to look for things that really push the boat out and innovate. I also really like little things that make me smile, simple little things that can be a levels appeal.

"Creativity" is open to almost anything.

Aesthetics. That's not on the list so I picked visuals instead. They're not quite the same thing, but whatever.2011-05-22 13:28:00

I think that atmosphere is very important. Along with it, it should have fun and inavative gameplay. With a good atmosphere, thats is a big part of the "wow" factor, getting players and keeping them intill the end. I dont like levels that are just cardboard and darkmatter, but if the because if it does not look good, It is not as effective on gameplay is good and gets me to think "wow" i would rate it but if it is very simple platforming (with no atmosphere at all) Basicly jumping to the right, I would rate but I almost never boo levels. I like to eather yey or dont rate at all.2011-05-22 14:55:00

I'd have to go for gameplay. Visuals for me are the dessert, it's the bit that makes you 'ooh' and 'aah' a bit, but if that's all that's going it just leaves you hungry. Decent gameplay is the stodge that fills you up. Decent gameplay is a potato.2011-05-22 16:12:00
