someone please tell me im not alone

Archive: 32 posts

So when PSN came back onine i went to play some multiplayer in Uncharted 2. When i joined a match however, EVERYONE was in their 5 or 6 prestige while im level 35. A few rage quits later i was thinking that it was the first day and only hardcore players will go back online and play. Oh i spoke too soon. So i went online today AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN 7 TIMES IN A ROW. Now i really hope im not the only one suffering here, is there something wrong with the server or something, cause SOMETHING IS CLEARLY WRONG HERE!!!!!!!2011-05-21 03:12:00

Nothings wrong at all. level 35 was originally half way to maximum rank on uncharted 2 and so from around that point onwards they begin letting you play with the big boys, to keep the game fair for lower levels. By about level 40ish It'll only let you play against high levels (unless you party up with a low level player as the party leader) It's hard at first, but you'll get used to it. Just be carefull. its around about this time when you'll first start feeling he true fear of situational awarness....... *shudder*2011-05-22 10:45:00

What does 5/6 prestige mean? Does it give them some advantage over you? If it doesn't then their rank is only an indication of how long they've played.2011-05-22 11:31:00

I feel your pain, I noticed the same thing happen to me the last few times I played Uncharted 2. It does suck when you consider the boosts people have at those levels.2011-05-22 13:21:00

There's no prestiging in Uncharted, the max level is 80. And sometimes it has benefits, some high-ranked players like to use badges of honour to test their skills. Now, something that I dislike is when some players make a 5 player party and dominate every single game, 10 - 50 kills.2011-05-22 13:48:00

Bingo. I get this all the time. Though I always manage to be a big thorn in their side I love hearing "OMG that noob killed me!"

When I see one of these parties in the lobby, I'm first like:

Uncharted 2 is just one of them online games that is impossible to play. To me it all depends on if 'lag' is on your side or not. Your never going to be as good as the people who spend day and night playing it. I go through on and off periods with this game because it annoys me so much. The only game mode that I'm OKAY at, not brilliant, is plunder. Only because you can get mixed on to good teams at the beginning. You can find yourself doing all of the work whilst everyone else messes around.

But yeah, it's virtually impossible not to play someone who has a 50+ level and the chances of beating someone like that is impossible.

This isn't the bad thing, the thing which has really annoyed me is a horrible glitch in Crushing (The Lab) matches, where people on your own team are trying to kill you aswell as people on the other side. It's like playing Killzone 3 with virtually everyone as an infiltrator, but not being able to tell with the crosshair turning red instead of green. I remember when The Lab was my fave game mode when it came every 2 weeks.

Uncharted 2 is hard. Deal with it. If you want easy play CoD. Simples!

Most people at those levels are using negative boosts to gain money, a.k.a their clip is half full, they can be killed in one punch. If their boosters are grey it means they're decreasing their skill and you should pray that they don't come back with boosters that actually increase their skill.

That was a glitch? I just assumed that was how the game mode was supposed to be played. Trusting that your teammates wouldn't come up behind you and one-hit kill you with a shotgun to the head.

And then exacting your revenge with a couple of grenades.. :kz:

I've noticed that this "glitch" seems to happen on several other game modes as well, e.g., Survival.

A good tip I learned, always have a granade on you, if you see you're about to go down, drop the granade behind them towards the floor, really close, in midst of the gunfire, they take you out, look behin, BAM!
Works like a charm.

If you can't defeat them, take them with you!
(its even better than that ability that drops a granade automatically, since that drops it after you're down, and they can usually notice it and flee, but tehy're usually to distracted to notice in the middle of the gunfire .)

Well, a teammate ran after me with a shotty (his lag sucked, so I survived) and I got so tired of this I killed him after 2 minutes of running for Drake's life. He came after me again so I killed him: again. I was instantly ejected from the game, with the message coming up on my screen, telling me that killing a team mate IS NOT ALLOWED. So I don't think it's part of the gameplay. -_-

I've played with clans in the past and they've all used this technique and pwned the hell outta me. I started using it and I'm getting better results now.

abyssassassin, there's a button in the lower right corner of posts with a " inside a speech bubble and a + next to it, right about............................................. .................................................. ...................there ^

That's the multi-quote button, press it on each post you wanna quote and then the "Reply with quote" button on the last post you're quoting, and all posts will be quoted in one post.

Hope that helps!

Even if you go on the forum for uncharted 2, everyone complains about it and everyone tells you not to play on your own, they more or less say that you need to go in a clan to actually be good at the game because the other players have your back.2011-05-22 23:50:00

I've just tried using both that grenade dropping tactic you mentioned with the booster on as well.
The results are hilarious.

Oops, sorry 'bout that.

I've played against clans before and it wasn't fun. Euphemism. It was brutal slaughter. And what can I say, I'm a lone wolf. I like playing team games, but I'm not in a specific team.

Haa yeah I know what you mean, I've never played with anyone else before aswell, I always go solo. We should make our own LBP group and show them who's who. That would be good, although I haven't played uncharted for awhile, so I'm probably quite rusty.

Here's what I learned playing UC2 online so far:

- Shotguns are the perfect weapon - you just have to run and fire if you see an enemy;
- When at first you don't suceed, throw a grenade;
- The "makeshift martydrom" works wonders;
- Nobody on your team wants to carry the treasure. If someone does, he will die 10 seconds after;
- The FAL has an absolute zero recoil when zoomed;
- Grenade launchers are made to be emptied in one single enemy;
- The minigun turns you into a slow, heavy and weak turtle with a feeling of being overpowered. (sorry UltimateClay)

The best way to get the treasure from one end of the map to the other is by throwing it, it's the easiest way by far. It works best if you have players on your team spaced out far enough, so when the first player throws it, the person further up the map can pick it up and throw it to the next. I've won many a game this way. Also another handy tip when your carrying the treasure and someone attacks you, is to roll, it drops the treasure straight away and allows you to shoot, you die 9 out of 10 but at least it gives you a little chance of defending yourself.

I'm not sure if your aware of this bug, but looking on the uncharted forums, some clan members cheat by shooting every gun they have untill they run out of ammo, this allows you to run faster with the treasure for some reason. This is frowned upon by the uncharted community.

I'm definitely up for creating our own group with you guys if you want a game? I might go on and play in a bit to get back in to the swing of things.

p.s. has anyone got any save replays on them playing? I remember I had a video saved of me in the desert eagle lab from the beginning of the year. All of my team died apart from me, I then managed to take them out one by one to win the game, I was VERY lucky that game. I'm not sure if I still have the video, but I'll check. If not I'll post my best game to whoever adds me.

Ive just played to and realised the reason I stopped playing this in the first place, all these "good players" are actually crap. Pure noobs, I've played one game and so far been killed at close range by the jack hammer at least 3 times, been sniperd whilst they were using situational awareness. The other team spawn camps/kills all of the time. GRRR.

I don't see any problem with playing with lower-rank players, if that is what you're talking about. If you find a game via same-rank then it usually isn't too accurate, but I'm fine with that. The lower the rank, the higher I rank. 2011-05-30 16:56:00

Happens in every game.
After time has passed, only those who truely own at it stick around.
I joined a few people on HAZE the other day (People from the EU Forums thought it'd be fun - it was!) and there were 3/4 people who just generally play it. The cames 1st all rounds.

I'm probably one of the most retarded Uncharted players ever, and on purpose. If you see a propane tank, chances are that I'm holding it. I will then proceed to throw it, blow it up, miss, and die. However, I did get a double kill from beyond the grave with a propane tank. One player killed me, the other shot the propane tank. Twas a joyous moment in my life.2011-06-03 05:55:00
