*MODS Please Lock This Thread* LBP PSP is Alive!

Archive: 28 posts

For those who were worried about their new levels not receiving as many plays as they would've in the past, worry no more.

VelcroJonze's level: Tera Cota II was released on 5/17/11 and as of today, 5/20/11, 3 days later, it has a total of 15 Hearts and 51 Plays.

My own level: Modern Warfare Survival was released last night on 5/19/11 and as of today, 5/20/11, 1 day later, it has a total of 9 Hearts and 35 Plays.

Now I'm no rocket scientist, but these numbers speak for themselves. I realize that levels receive more hearts and plays when they're new, and then lose them overtime, but they do so slowly, and continue to gather their hearts and plays at around the same pace for awhile. While it may not mean Taffey and AFP are back, the PSP side of LBP is still alive and maybe more than ever!

... Ok, I know I do not belong here, but I hardly see how 50 plays in 3 days is "more alive then ever"... or even "Still alive". If that is "more alive then ever"... I struggle to see how it ever was really alive to begin with. :/

But whatever, I'll leave you to whatever this is then... /runs

You're comparing it to an original game on a powerful system with a massive amount of users. Not fair. If you knew LBP PSP, it truly is a lot, in fact, it's a whole heck of a lot for 1 - 3 days. You have to remember the community is a lot smaller than on PS3. I'm not trying to create another one of those threads, and I realize it looks like it, but I'm trying to bring the morale up for those who struggle to create when they think no one will play their levels.

sauron is right about not being 'more alive than ever'
psp has seen better days
but it is enough to motivate me.

Yeah, it's not like it was a year ago, but that's okay. Sometimes it it seems that our little game got swept aside after the release of lbp2 ,the announcement of NGP, and the fact that there hasn't been an update for over a year. The near game crippling Turbo Glitch never being patched is inexcusable. And never updating featured levels and players is not a good way to keep people playing your game, but what do I know. However, creating on psp is still more fun to me than almost anything.2011-05-21 04:50:00

1. Velcro's levels get around 1000 plays at least. So 51 plays is pretty low. And since you said it yourself that they aren't as active over time, you're evidence is shaky.

2. You're overreacting. Two good levels happen to get more hearts and plays than the usual stuff you find in the level showcase. Maybe its because, i don't know (sarcasm, i do know), they're good! Good levels tend to get more hearts and plays believe it or not. This is horrible proof to start a PSP is Alive thread.

Meh, I think it's a little harsh to criticize it that much because it was 3 days for Velcro's level and 1 day for mine. With what every negative little **** person is saying about the side being dead and all of those old negative threads, I figured this was enough reason to make it be alive again. Yeah I was wrong in saying it's alive more than ever, but that was just one thing I mentioned and the point is people are still creating and getting a fair amount of plays for their levels. You said it yourself that Velcro averages about 1000 plays a level, well I'd say he's almost on pace for that right now, maybe only a little behind. The point of this was to get people like NightAngel to continue creating since they were skeptic on whether or not their new levels would get plays and if they should even create. I want them to know that they still should create, as long as they find it entertaining, and know that the plays will be there if the level's good.

Really?

Does anyone else feel like Random has been *Crawling out of caves/graves* a lot recently?

I geuss so! lbp does have a reputation of the game being built by it's buyers. perhaps this silence in the PSP section is just the calm before the storm 2011-05-21 11:46:00

I'm dead though.
I guess I mine as well play those two levels.
*SHOCKER!* Yep, I haven't played them, and I also knew Tera Cota II was coming out before PSN got back up.
I just don't play psp much anymore, but I guess I'll give this a shot.

I wasn't contradicting myself man, you're taking bits and pieces from what I say without reading it in context. I said the levels lose plays overtime, but they do so in a slow manner. I understand that you're trying to point out that it's not that big of a deal, but it is, in comparison to what it was a couple months ago with everyone saying the side is "dead."

I remember when I was a forum noob and wouldn't speak my mind, but now I can say stuff like this:

Stop overreacting. Two good levels is something to enjoy, but that's it. You're getting carried away and just overdoing it.

And if the PSP really is alive, do you really need to tell people that? If people were actively contributing and posting in the PSP forums, do you really need to tell them "Hey, I guess we're not dead!" unless of course you're this guy:

I guess I just don't see why you not being a noob gives you a desire to be the "negative" guy. Like I said plenty of times before, I was doing this for those who are creating, not those who are just browsing the forums aimlessly acting like they're still involved. I don't want this to turn into another thread where people just argue to argue. There's no point in arguing this, I was just trying to make a point. Mods, please lock this thread.
