Yup, it's finally here! The first of a string of unrelated levels I'm planning to release on PSP post-PSN downtime. You play as a soldier in enemy territory. This level is very slightly based on the Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) campaign. Although my initial goal was to make this a story/gameplay oriented level, my focus on aesthetics limited the amount of space open for these elements. Literally nothing more could be added to the level after using every thermometer trick in the book and deleting extra things multiple times. Promotional poster and level badge made by me.

Played the level and still wanting more? Check your "Community Objects" in your Goodies Bag to find a code that unlocks Prestige Mode! It's like two levels in one! (Just be sure not to share the code with anyone else.) /promotional tactics overkill 2011-05-20 00:27:00

Great level!! I gave it 5 stars! (and a heart)

I felt like it was short, but I could tell why you ran out of thermo. Great visuals. I did feel like there could have been more gameplay and less visuals though. Still great level!

Thanks man that means a lot! I tried everything I could to add some more filler gameplay but I couldn't get myself to remove some of the visuals. Thanks for the feedback I owe you some!

EDIT: Did you try the Prestige Mode too? It adds a couple more bubble combos and secrets to find throughout the level and you should have the code in your Community Objects section of your Goodies Bag if you completed the level once.

Hey buddy!

The opening to this is epic!! Aiming down the irons of the gun in first person looked great. Pulling off head shots felt just right. The elevator to the top hectic, but in a good way, with enemies popping up in the corners. I thought the red barrels were a nice touch. And blowing them up to get to the top was fun. Running up the scaffolding was cool, looking for health packs filled with bubbles was awesome!!

You must have used a ton of logic on this. Thinking about it makes my brain hurt.

Wonderful job buddy!

Five stars and a heart! And one for creator. <3

I can't wait to see what is next from you!

Thanks so much for the feedback man! I assume you tried out the Prestige Mode then as well? In my next level series I'll be applying that more often and in different ways since I'll hopefully have more thermo space. As for the level, it was really a large variety of different styles with mostly dissolve-based switches and a custom tracker I made for the FPS scene. I'm glad you liked it.

First off, I want to say that I generally avoid levels based on popular franchises. Seriously. Having said that...

This is a vast, and I mean vast improvement on your previous Modern Warfare level. The first person bit was well done, but what I really liked were your little sack-scale enemies in the elevator section. There wasn't a whole lot of risk in this level, though, which detracted from the fun. Risk/Reward is a big part of gaming.

As VJ said, the scaffolding was fun (and well put together, too). Keep up the good work.

Hmm....Seems particularily interesting!
I've only played CoD on my friends Xbox 360 a few times, so pardon any redundant comments on the story line please!

I'll be back with feedback shortly. c;

Thanks man! I know what you mean about the whole "remake of popular franchise" levels, but my overall goal was to improve my previous level and show what I can do. The lack of risk was a result of no thermometer space and an emphasis on visuals. Thanks again for the feedback, I owe you some.

Hai there, I think this was an outstanding level.
with great visuals and gameplay.
my fave part was pulling off the headshots, sadly enough it messes up with the checkpoint there.
Your visuals are, as said before, amazing.
But I would change the prestige mode code system, because you have to go in create mode to see the code and this takes up quite some time.
But overall an awesome level which is worth my 5:star:'s and <3

Hey I'm sorry to hear about the code taking so long, I figured it was a sneaky way of getting more plays. Thanks for the feedback it means a lot! I'll be sure to leave you some on your next level!

I'm back, with the feedback. c:
As Nys mentioned, the checkpoint at beginning was a little faulty, thus I'm not going to include it in my feedback.
I understand how tiresome it gets when constantly being told about the same problem(s) over and over again.

The Bads

Very Confusing
-I had experienced a few problems on understanding what to do next. ESPECIALLY at the beginning, after I had shot the two soldiers in the tower. There was no directional prompt, hence I thought I was just supposed to keep shooting the soldiers, again, and again....and again.

The Goods

Impeccible Beginning
-I was astonished with the beginning, it was a very impressive and creative way to kick off a level based off of a war game. Props to you my chum!

An Intense Amount of Aesthetic Labor
-I can only begin to think how long it must of taken you to apply all those visual enhancers. More props!

A Nice Ode to Gamplay
-Involving, exciting, and both enhanced with smooth and crisp consecutive activities. Bravo!

The What

Crummy pictures
-You're absolutely right, those pictures did not do you ANY favors!

Pardon me if I didn't creator heart you yet, I must make sure I have.

I hope you don't mind but I picked apart your feedback to make it more clear as to what I'm quoting.

Thank you so much for that awesome feedback, I know how long it takes to make it look nice like you always do and it means a lot being easy to read and all. I can completely see how that beginning was confusing for you, and it's a shame it was because originally I had it so the characters dissolved after you shot them. All was fine and dandy with that part until I had a level corruption awhile back and I lost all of that progress I made refining the sniper part (actually just an assault rifle but that's ok). After losing the progress, I had thought I remade all of those changes again, but I forgot to attach the sensor switch wire to each character to make them dissolve. When all was said and done and I was overflowing the thermo (seriously, the thermometer liquid was actually spilling over the top), I went back through to make sure everything worked and I noticed they weren't dissolving. I tried everything and it wouldn't even let me attach that one flippin wire to each character! So that's that emotionally scarring backstory....

Overall, I'm glad you enjoyed the level! I was worried there wasn't enough gameplay to satisfy people but it sounds like it was just enough. Thanks for the A+ feedback, I'll be sure to give you some on your next level! (And don't think I forgot, because you ARE creating one...you HAVE to.).

On my second playthrough, I discovered that you're supposed to be zapped back to the ground automatically after the sniper bit. Did not work my first time.

Ah yes. I didn't realize this was an issue and I'm sorry for anyone who experienced it. Through all my playtesting it never happened, but after all the re-glueing I did of the entrance, I suppose it was bound to happen. I hope you still liked the level BlackWolfe.

@EVERYONE - Just for fun, for whoever can name which guns I used (there were two, just different variants), I'll send them 250 XP! First one to post here with both the correct answers wins! (Since there are different variants, just give me the names of the guns like they were in Modern Warfare 2.) *CLOSED*

It's good that you haven't forgot, because I have yet to cease creating that level.
It's still at a very early embryonic stage. c:

Ah, the CoD guns used eh?

At the part with the lift, I'd set my money on:

At the beginning, I will have to say:

Well, that's all I can gather from the times I've played with my buddy.

EDIT: XP sent.

Yup! That was it! I forgot about the very last gun, which is actually not the same as the first M4A1, but an M16 instead.
If anyone would be willing to take some quality pictures of my level, I'd be very grateful and give you credit along with a reward.

Hi Woodbury. Played your level mate and quite enjoyed it. Dont really know if its close to the CoD games as I havent played them. Loved the start with the sight part, very fresh. There was some sweet corner editing going on and your name looks a quality logo. Chopper at the end was neat too. I did have a problem with the lift on my first go as it went up wonkey, fine after a restart though. Some areas too were quite dullish, maybe some sticker action if the thermo allowed. All in all good stuff pal. Would like to see a level off you thats completely fresh from your head bro, you could do some good stuff what with your understanding of the create mode.2011-05-27 20:50:00

Modern Warfare Survival
WoodburyRaider
Score: 8.2/10
Rating::star::star::star::star::star:

Survive enemy territory to find the escort vehicle to take you back! Loosley based on the Modern Warfare series.

Story:
Nothin'. N/A

Gameplay:
The gun gameplay is very cool and fun. But it was very easy for the most part. The platforming was so-so as most of time was a lot of walking. Overall it was good, but could been better in a lot of areas. 8/10

Music/Sound Effects:
The music was well fitted for the level. The sound FX for the guns were spot on. 10/10

Astheitics:
The choice of materials was very good and fit well. The guns looked very nice. There could have been more corner editor in the eviormernt, but the corner editing you did in it was good. You could have used more stickers and thin layers. 7.75/10

Originality:
Gun levels have been done before, but this one was exceptionally done well. 9/10

Misc:
There was no lag in the level. All worked fine, but during the first part, you could have used some dissolve on the enemy. 8/10

Woodbury's new levels is very fun with its gun gameplay, but could use some improvement in platforming. If you want to try a good gun level, play this one.

Thanks man! Which areas did you find dull? Was it the buildings because some of those I kind of skimped on as that part was kind of just a quick run-through and I couldn't edit them at all after. My next levels coming out are all brand new/original creations so hopefully you'll like those a lot. Thanks again for the feedback I'll be sure to leave you some on your next level.

Modern Warfare Survival
Score: 8.5/10

Very interesting concept that actually works great on the PSP!

Story: N/A/10
No story, all good.

Music/SFX Choice: 9/10
Great music choice, and some nice SFX.

Appearance: 7/10
This is tough to say. There were lots of areas that were quite dull, but the objects are just so good! It would've been nice to see the detail you put into the objects into some of the areas.

Creatures/Objects: 10/10
The guns and banners are awesome!! You've got a lot of skill in object creation for sure.

Gameplay: 8/10
Completely original, which I I've never seen a level quite like this. The concepts are fun, but there are a few parts that are a little stale. In a few buildings you just walk back and forth to get to the real platforming parts. No problem, it just could be a little better.

Overall: 8.5 (not an average)
Great level here. You may of had thermo problems, but it would've been nice to see the detail you put into your object into the scenery. Even so, this is a well deserved spotlight worth :star::star::star::star::star:

And I never really gave you feedback sooo:
This level is awesomeWoodbury! The first person thing is clever and I don't think it's overused either, it's a great addition to the level.

Now I played your other modern warfare level and this one takes all the cool stuff from that, cleans it up and puts a beautiful bow on it!! The materials are good, they make the visuals stand out, but the gameplay is fantastic to go with.

Now much I can say in the way of improvements, a little more stickerwork would have been nice
