Recording Sackbot Bouncepad Animations
Archive: 7 posts
I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere on the forum, but twenty minutes or so of searching has rendered no results; thus, I've reluctantly decided to post it here. Is it possible to record the twirling bouncepad animation of a sackbot by itself, to be used later without the presence of a bouncepad? It appears that the "record" feature of the acting dialogue only records the actual button presses, not the animations of the sackbot, which leaves me dumbfounded as to how some creators generate such complex animations. In hindsight I'm no longer sure that I've actually seen a bouncing animation used apart from a bouncepad, but I thought I would ask, anyway . | 2011-05-19 15:15:00 Author: MrLongJohn Posts: 36 |

You may be able to emit them on a bounce pad that is immediately destroyed. But that's about it. Maybe someone will have a better idea. Also, I'm not sure what you're trying to do, so its hard to offer options/solutions. | 2011-05-19 15:33:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
Hi CYMBOL, thanks for the reply. My intention was to create a personalized "powerup earned" animation that involved the animation of sackboy twisting about the y-axis while jumping. I'll try the immediately destroyed bouncepad idea, I think that might work. | 2011-05-19 15:44:00 Author: MrLongJohn Posts: 36 |
You're right that 'record' only records button inputs. Maybe a half decent effect could be achieved with rotators/ movers etc | 2011-05-19 15:49:00 Author: Radishlord Posts: 706 |
You're right that 'record' only records button inputs. Maybe a half decent effect could be achieved with rotators/ movers etc That's a great idea, I was just about to suggest that. Have a rotator that you can control with say the right stick. That way you can manually start spinning by yourself. | 2011-05-19 21:13:00 Author: SkaterOllie795 Posts: 145 |
But that would make him rotate not on himself but around (don't know how to say it)... And sackbots always move strangely when rotated | 2011-05-20 00:07:00 Author: Unknown User |
Right, so my intention here was to record rotation about the y-axis, not the z-axis (which is what a rotator would accomplish); however, it's becoming more and more apparent that this isn't possible. Thanks for all the help though, I really appreciate it. | 2011-05-20 20:52:00 Author: MrLongJohn Posts: 36 |
