The Witcher 2

Archive: 3 posts

Any PC games here playing The Witcher 2? It's an RPG which is comparable to a mix of Fable and Mass Effect. I hadn't really read anything about the series, but saw some rave reviews and decided to... uhh, test it out [Note: In no way do I condone these actions]. After a few hours of gameplay, I was blown away. This is one of the best looking games I've ever seen (providing you run it on Ultra or High ), and the whole game just sucked me in within the first hour. I don't usually buy games at full price (hello steam sales ), but I couldn't resist forking out ?35 quid for this.

The game is a true RPG, nothing is dumbed down, there's like 4 different ways to start and 16 different endings. You battle a mix of things from people to huge monsters. You have choices in dialogue like in mass effect, and your actions do have consequences. The game is huge with about 40 hours of gameplay and tons of replayability. Your actions mean you may miss an entire town in your first playthrough.

So, anyone else playing/planning to play this?

WOOP WOOP! Seriously, this game is beast. If it were on consoles it would be getting so much more attention, a huge competitor against skyrim.

Just a shame my download speed is capped at 250kbps on steam in uni. God knows why - cause using rapidshare and the like give me about 14 mbps D: Oh well, only a few more hours till its done.
