LBP on PSN store when back up

Archive: 29 posts

When the PSN store gets put back, you can get five games for fre3. one of those is LittleBigPlanet. This could be for people that don't have it or just want it to have it on a PS3 instead of a disk. you must have had a PSN account before the outage.2011-05-17 20:35:00

It won't be downloadable, PS3 disc games are far too large. They'll probably send you a printable voucher in an e-mail that game stores can check and give you credit in exchange for.2011-05-17 21:14:00

LBP is already a downloadable game on the store, it was also given away free to PS+ users. It will be the downloadable version, it ain't too big.

Nope, you can download full games from the store.

Notice how it said Little Big Planet was being given away instead of Little Big planet 2.
The first game is probably a lot smaller in terms if data. Am I right?

More like they're not going to give away a 4 month old game thats still selling.

I don't think it'd be too much smaller. They're both around 2GB, so either could be sell-able on PS store

Most PS3s (all new ones) can't play PS2 games, they don't have the 'emotion chip' that is used to run PS2 software in them because it was expensive to manufacture.2011-05-18 22:45:00

To be honest i'd much rather have money on my account which equals the amount to 2 games.
About $50 - $90 to 77Million users would equal to an extremely high loss of money, not to mention people with duplicate accounts could exploit this even more than just getting 5 games, like this, no matter how many accounts one has, they cannot get more than the specified, giving them $70 (or w/e would be the equivalent on other currencies.) could allow people to make 15 accounts, thus giving them about $1000 to spend on the PS store, every user does this and they'd have an incredible loss.

Only accounts created before the downtime get the compensation.

Apart from that the reasoning behind no cash is just about spot on.

Can anyone tell me if this is only for PSN Users who registered before a certain date? My best friend's birthday is today, and he's finally getting a PS3, so I'd like to be sure before I tell him about this.2011-05-20 12:08:00

Unfortunately this offer is only for those with registered accounts when PSN went down. I?m sorry I can?t give you a better answer, but unfortuantely that is the eligibility criteria for this offer.

Might work well for MM in the end. People play LBP for free, enjoy it, and end up buying the sequel.2011-05-20 15:48:00

All the other titles are download titles... does this mean that LBP1 is now a download title? I have looked before and it wasn't.
I apologize if this has been answered but can not find info about it.

This is also good news for lbp fans as it will get plenty more people into the game. I'm sure there are tons of people like me who don't realize how awesome it is until played.2011-05-23 00:05:00

I am going to follow in Sony's footsteps, and to thank my daughter for graduating high
school with honors, give her a pair of my old socks. I'm sure she'll appreciate the thought.

Yeh Right.

They could always port them over to PS3. Dunno how hard that'd be, though.

This is the perfect occasion to get this epic game, unless you already have it, i suggest getting it.
Even if you are not interested, it's basically a giant DLC pack for LBP2 free!
