LBP Cinema Reviews Introduction.
Archive: 4 posts
As you know movies in LBP2 are never regarded as something serious. But with the dawn of the movie "Figment" I believe the LBP2 movies will now be treated as something to be respected. I will inform people about great or not so great movies in LBP. If you would like to recommend a movie for review please post it here. Guidelines 1.Must have a Run Time of over 10 minutes * 2.Must not involve direct gameplay** 3.No random clips movies *I am aware that 10 minutes is a long time, But if I wasn't aware of how strict this is I wouldn't have put it there. ** By direct gameplay I mean levels that are games and contain lots of gameplay. No gameplay levels with tons of cutscenes. These reviews will be spoiler free. So you can watch for full enjoyment. After going over all aspects of the movie I will give a Score out of 10 stars. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to suggest a GAMEPLAY level to review post it here NOT HERE https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=39901-Blue-Reviews!-INTRO | 2011-05-16 22:33:00 Author: DarrienEven Posts: 217 |
Hi, first off kudos for deciding to support the more serious type of movies made in LBP, without wishing to degenerate the 'lolz' movies (I've made some myself) it's nice for a place to be found to support them. However, I'd like to adddress a couple of points. you mention that with the dawn of Figment, movies will now be treated as something to be respected. while I can understand you may not have personally seen the work of others like myself who have been trying to push this particular envelope, it maybe seems as if we are a little invisible for our efforts. we have tho' still attracted reasonable viewing figures for our 'serious' movies. The run time of twenty minutes, is also in my opinion a little arbitary. I personally think a movie can be seen as 'serious' with a much shorter timescale, however, I also understand if you;re setting yourself up as a reviewer it's reasonable for you to decide on what terms you'll be accepting movies for review. I invite you to see some of my 'serious' movies, not neccesarily with view to reviewing (that decision I will respectfully leave entirely up to yourself) but to pose an argument that supports my assertation. My latest films are (I think) both under twenty minutes, but I am sure you will agree upon viewing that they do indeed handle mature and serious topics. http://lbp.me/v/zk1n2f The Day I Changed The World http://lbp.me/v/0e6hdm Losing Things These two are indeed much shorter, but again I think they deserve to be taken seriously as it were... http://lbp.me/v/y2cxdx The Merchant of Venice http://lbp.me/v/y2cxgz Hamlet: To Be Or Not To Be I hope I've managed to phrase these points as food for thought, good luck with your endeavors in reviewing MM | 2011-05-23 13:56:00 Author: MuddledMuppet Posts: 115 |
I guess 20 minutes is a bit ridiculous. So I'll change it to 10. As far as reviewing movies go I don't think I'll really ever have a lot I can review. I see your point in that a movie can be serious under 20 minutes. I think I'll review one of your movies sometime. BTW "MM" stands for Media Molecule as well | 2011-05-24 11:36:00 Author: DarrienEven Posts: 217 |
