Munchy Bunny Bounce (2012 Update)

Archive: 14 posts

This level has had a general make over. Since I first published I've improved as a creator, plus there's been some useful new dlc. If you've played before, I hope you'll try it out again. If you haven't played, then I urge you to unleash your inner bunny.

Eat magical sweets, bounce with the bunnies, and explore a whimsical platformer - plus easter egg hunt! The burrow is full of bunnies, but there are eight who haven't come in for tea time. Make your way out into the garden, and win a prize if you can find all eight of the bunnies who are late for tea. New easter eggs and prizes, with improved visuals and gameplay. Comments, reviews, and photos are much appreciated. Please no h4h.

Fantastic use of layers. Shame you missed your easter window. There were only a few things that I think could have been cleaner. The chocolate water fall looks great but I felt that falling into the pit beneath it could have a better themed death/splash effect. Maybe use the splat destroy on something brown as you fall?

In the vegie patch I couldn't seem to get enough height to get the last bubble from the top of the beanstalk. Also at the top of the attic I got hung up on the thread spool walking back from the bottles. Maybe stick some invisible dark matter on that layer to push you over?

Your attention to detail is amazing. The cherries dropping on the roof in part one are essentially off screen and serve no real purpose, as you probably wouldn't give them a second thought on a first play through. You may not even see them. When they become a gameplay element in the second part it is an excellent use of subtile gameplay foreshadowing.

I did die (game over) on that roof as for some reason I couldn't get the hang of the jump. Admittedly I was being a little over confident. I always ran after the first cherry.

Again your level design and flow are brilliant. I did get a little miffed in some parts when I couldn't go back because I was exploring. Like in the sand castles and ended up going the right way first. The little secrets like grabbing the hamster ball and playing in the wheel were nice touches. I did feel that it was a little hard to see the way to go when I first dropped into the cage though.

Having spinning point bubbles grow from the flowers was such a simple touch that pays off. Again, the sand pit was super impressive. I wish that the bunnies made some noise when they were close by (but off screen) as I would have then gone in the right direction (debatable as I'll probably play it again, and it encourages people to re-play).

I can't stop raving about the design and style choices, the easter eggs patterns, (although the black and white spotted one under the chair always slid away when I tried to grab it), the intelligent use of decorations, the scale of the toys, the transition from underground to above ground, the cat swiping you back onto the stage... phenomenal detail.

I don't want to ruin any surprises, but at the end as you go past the fountain, the journey felt a tad too smooth... I don't know... maybe it could have been a little more unstable?

This has so many plays already and it will undoubtedly get more, so you're quite welcome to ignore me.

Missing Easter seems to be a bonus as this stage feels so complete and polished. I'm sure it could have be 'finished' so much sooner but... yeah, worth the down time.

This level is stunning looking. I like the way you've made the score bubbles look like items that you would find on this level. The garden outside looks great and as has been said, the use of layers is very good. Perfect choice of music. The chair bounce pads too me a few goes to get right, but that's probably just me. Cool acting from the bunnies. Sand Castle section's lookin good.

Good job!

Thanks for the feedback so far! I've added a bounce pad near the end of the sandbox so you can backtrack, and also made the level link easier to reach - mainly a problem for multiplayer. I'll start returning feedback in the next day or two.
And yeah, I actually had the level ready to go several days before Easter, and I've been pulling my hair ever since, waiting to publish.

Such a flawless level it has such a wonderful charm and great appeal. I love all the characters, there cute and fun.

Visuals are amazing, I love how it's all in lots of different sections, I think my favorite area was the shed, just had a nice old charm feel, also the sandcastle and hamster cage where great fun. I think what made this level great was it was just fun to explore and search entering one beautiful section after another.

Thank you for making and shearing a lovely level with us all I appreciate fedback for this https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=56607-Super-Afro-Samurai-Monkeys!-LBP2-Version-(With-vid) a sentence or even a word would do good or bad.

Wow, so wonderfully detailed and full of imaginative game mechanics. Great use of the 3D tool in developing the environment, you really spent some time on making this look beautiful. I especially like the hamster cage part with the tubes and the sand castle was excellently crafted. Another point to mention would be your skilled use of holograms for water. That was something I don't see often but it worked well for the particular look you were going for. Must have been a pain to get them JUST right. ^_-

The sackbots were a nice touch, something many people either simply forget or don't know the benefits of yet. Made the environment feel more alive.

For some reason, I had a delay in the activation of the level link. Not sure what that's about...

Again, wonderful job and keep up the good work. When you have time, please check out my Alien Invasion level: http://lbp.me/v/x4gn9m

This level is worthy of all the accolades it has received.

It was pleasantly simple. My only hang-up occurred at the cat: It probably comes as no surprise to you that I spent 15 minutes trying to evade its paw before looking for an alternate route. That paw is extremely well done, by the way. It leaves no doubt as to what just happened. ^_^

For bugs, I only noticed that the rabbit at the beginning got him/her-self embedded in the floor somehow. Jumped too high, I guess.

I find the hamster cage a little claustrophic. Thank goodness, I'm a human in real life, and not a smelly rodent. If you were to write this part a second time, causing the forward wall of the terrarium (between us and the sackboy) to become replaced with a more transparent version of itself would go a long way towards preserving your overall artistry, while reducing eye-strain. Note: This is really not a large criticism. The whole level is beautiful.

Thanks for putting this one together. You are part of what is making LBP (currently) the Greatest Game of All Time.

[sorry about my poor english]

Very good level ! Fun, a lot of hidden things to find, easy but really enjoyable platforming sequences, beautiful sceneries. You perfectly fit the easter theme from the beginning to the end with all the rabbits and hidden eggs. I'm not a huge fan of the layer glitch, but I have to admit that your sandcastle is amazing. Very well crafted !

Everything was flawless, enjoyable, I didn't found bugs or glitch, never get stuck. The only part where I have to search my way was with the cat (issue already mentionned by The Manx Turtle) but after a few tries it was clear that its paw wont let me pass.

If you have a chance to return the F4F favor, the link is in my signature.

Anyway, congrats for your level !

Sounds fun I'll Queue it up and Ill check it out in a bit.

Edit: Played it, Amazing. From an artistic standpoint its definitely a 10. The level design was fantastic, plenty of variety in it to keep it interesting though out the entire level. I personally loved the sand box castle portion of the level and you bunnies are adorable. Great Job and I hope to be as good a level designer as you at some point. I really don't have any negative feedback because I thought it was top notch... keep up the good works.

I've just played this level and it feels so fresh to play. The surroundings are very easy to follow, without getting to confusing that you end up getting lost or quitting because you don't know what to do next. Their are challenging parts, trying to find easter eggs and bunnies etc. A really fun level to play. I hearted it, well done!!2011-05-18 10:30:00

I added this level to my queue and played it last night. Really good fun, I love all the hidden details like the corn that pops when you grab it and the hidden eggs. Only bit where I had a bit of trouble was after the barn at the thorny bush, I jumped to the bottom to grab all the bubbles but then had a really hard time grappling my way back up. I got there in the end but it was a little frustrating and broke the flow a tiny bit, but that's being really picky! Definitely one of the best custom levels I've played so far 2011-05-18 12:27:00
