LBP PSP Contest Section

Archive: 8 posts

Awhile ago you guys merged the PSP contest with the PS3 contest side. Ever since that happened there barely have been any, if any at all, contest for LBP PSP. I think it would be better if the PSP part of the contest section was moved back to the PSP section. Contest bring out good creations, and LBP PSP has been lacking the norm for some time.

So what do you guys think?

I agree. As a host of LBP Contests I find that alot of PSPers dont actually notice the contests I post2011-05-31 04:57:00

I'd love to see this happen! I agree with Alismuffin that not enough creators on the PSP side are noticing PSP Contests or at least aren't viewing them as frequently since they're kind of blended in with the rest. I'd for sure create some contests to fill the sub-forum up a bit and help kick things off. 2011-05-31 23:02:00

The point of this was to get PSPers out of the PSP corner and out into the regular forums more often, m8, I think it'd be easier to go check the contest section than to have to move a section because people didn't pay attention, don't you think?2011-05-31 23:53:00

Well they already did that by removing the PSP tab at the top thus forcing us to at least glance at the other forums as we scroll down the page. It's not because people didn't pay attention, it's for future users and current users alike who are having trouble finding certain forums. For current users, they also won't have to filter through other community contests just to get to the one they want to see. (I realize this also brings about that feeling of isolationism, but in addition it creates quicker access which I think is the more important aspect).

It would be very nice if they bring it back. I feel as if a lot of PSPers never check the community contests subforum, so it seems as if a lot of PSP contests get unnoticed.2011-06-01 03:09:00

The point of this was to get PSPers out of the PSP corner and out into the regular forums more often...

That was the reason for promoting the PSP forums to the top level, and seems to have had some success.

The reason why there's a single contests forum for all platforms is that the forum has insufficient traffic to justify splitting into multiple forums, combined with the overall goal of trying to minimize the total number of forums on the site.

As for the theory that the reduced number of PSP contests is due to the merging of the forums, as I replied to the OP in a PM...

I don't think the merging of the forums was responsible for the lack of PSP contests, but more the vanishing of those individuals who would organize them.

Additionally, since Sony announced they were discontinuing support for the PSP version, the number of posts in the PSP area has dropped quite dramatically.

Same happened upon the launch of LBP2 - some of the PSPers moved on to that, in addition to it making the PS3 LBP1 area a bit of a 'ghost town'.

...which, given this graph...
