MINECRAFT For those who don't know what minecraft is, it's a sandbox game developed by Mojang where everything is cubed base and mainly revolves around construction. Minecraft has no plot line and set in a free world in which the player can roam around with free will. There are currently two versions of Minecraft, Classic and Beta. Classic is the original version in which the player can build anything with unlimited supply. Beta is similar but the player does not have unlimited supply but must find some with the aid of mining, he/she can fight monsters called mobs, and build. During to the complexity in small placed in small areas. several constraints will be applied. One is that there will only be one layer for the player to mine on. Second is that the level won't take up the space from the start and to the end of the level. Thirdly is the height constraint as featured in Minecraft in which the player can stack blocks up to a certain level. Now here's a list of what will be done: - Mining Logic (Basic) - done - Mining Logic (Advanced) - Building and Placing Blocks (Basic) - done - Building and Placing Blocks (Advanced: Water flow, Lava Flow) - Day and Night Cycle - Zombies - Creepers - Pigs - Lava Logic - done - Torches - Minecraft Music: A Lonely Symphony (By me) - Minecraft Costumes - Growing Plants - Weather - HUD - in process - TNT - in process Possibility of something being done: - Different Tools - In game Mincraft-style Popit - Clouds - Snow Region - Desert Region - Visible Sun and Moon A beta will be released soon and will not be locked so anyone can play it just like the real Minecraft so bugs may be reported. If anyone wants to help me they can lend me any of the following: - Minecraft Music - Minecraft Costumes (Creepers, the player, Zombies) - Non DLC Please - Anything Relevant to Situation (Must suggest on this Thread) Any other suggestions will be helpful.

I've read your explanation about mine craft but what really is the big thing about it? I seen a video of someone recreating the starship enterprise on a 1:1 ratio but what is the reason? Its all blocks, no fun in that, no?

Thanks for the sarcastic response Radishlord im glad someone has something positive and recreational to say. Just saying, you responded to my sarcasm with some more sarcasm. I like minecraft for similar reasons that I like lbp, it can be a very creativity orientated game. On topic, I may be able to make 1 or 2 of the minecraft music tracks.

okay so after watching two videos (which we're funny btw) it seems as though it more based on imagination rather than LBP's "Point A to point B" gameplay. Sort of like Zork, yes?

So this is kinda more like Terria(I think) than Minecraft? Thats a 2d game based heavily on Zelda and MC, looking forward to this either way

Could be possible, I have in my head a system of replicating blocks to mimic water flow. It's basically how minecraft water functions Unfortunately it wouldn't look as fluid as in game.

Wow Terraria just changed the way I looked at Minecraft, but I'll stick to Minecraft since I'm adding creepers and zombies. For the water, im just using holograms since you can't contain water in any way.

I got into minecraft while the network was down and I LOVE IT. LBP and minecraft are different but in a sense are sort of the same when it comes to imagination. You wouldn't believe by looking at minecrafts graphics that in some way it's better then LBP. Don't get me wrong I love LBP but there are things about minecraft that are better. Don't be turned off by videos or graphics. This game is really really fun. Try it out and you'll be addicted. I got so addicted I was playing that over LBP. I had my psn working at 10:45 lastnight. I was one of the first states to be turned on. Here I am with PSN up and ready to go and I'm sitting and playing minecraft. I can't wait I'm buying the full version first thing after I go to the bank in the morning.

I was thinking when I finished the whole game (when the whole "list of what will be done" is complete), should I make the level copyable so people can create, edit, and mod their own minecraft levels like the random generation seed in minecraft?
