Once the whole 2012 thing finally settled down, this came up.


The person who assigned the date (May 21, 2011) is Harold Camping. He is best known for a prophecy of the second coming of Jesus Christ in 1994 (which utterly failed) and for his current prediction of the second coming in May 2011.		2011-05-13 22:10:00

Well considering I've only just heard of this date now, nothing of importance...except for that big date of yours... Something people should be more concerned about.


A number of amateur astronomers from around the world have discovered an asteroid that is expected to pass near the Earth on Monday night, April 18, 2011.

Apparently there is no concern, because it's not directly aimed at earth. Most asteroids burn up in the atmosphere, or are deflected by debris. Yet, something to think about, this asteroid has the power equivalent to 15 atomic bombs.

No offence, but that's a foolish point many use blindly without thinking about it, just because you can see into the future, doesn't mean you can stop it.
Say, for example, we were able to predict a super advanced race of aliens with technology far superior to our own is gonna attack, we know about it, yet there's nothing we can do about it, since our technology isn't nearly advanced enough to do anything to prevent it.

Even if they knew another race was gonna take over their land, they couldn't do anything about it, since their "military" power was way inferior to that of those who defeated them.

They could've simply accepted the fact that they were gonna loose, or tried anyways, knowing they couldn't do much against it.		2011-05-16 03:35:00

Extrapolating the end of the world from the Mayan calendar is exactly the same as extrapolating that the world would end on Dec 31 (any year) because that's when the calendar for that year ended.

And it has been entirely and thoroughly debunked, because there is no evidence whatsoever of any cosmic event large enough to cause the destruction of the earth. Humans could do it, but someone could push The Big Red Button any day, so that's meaningless.		2011-05-16 03:42:00

Being recently confirmed in my faith, and seeing about 5 to 10 billboard advertisements of various other judgement days, all I can say is this:

Oh boy this Mr. Camping is a joke a deserves not a second more of attention then he's already got. He's making gullible people worry for nothing. He has a company worth 120 million dollars. He got this money by people quitting their jobs and handing over everything they own toward this insane campiagn. These poor people are going to walk away with nothing just like they did in 1994 when Camping made the exact prediction. When asked what happened in 94 he replied "I was not familiar with the bible. Well that load of crap because back then he sure made it look he was.

If it is infact the apocalypse he will be the first one in line, for slaundering, lying and making 'profits' not 'prophecies' off of the poor people who had a faith in this man.


I do believe we need to start thinking about how we live and treat this planet but that's a discussion we can have over sipping on a nice cold Sam Adams. Anyway the only end we will see is the end of this mans career as a prophet. Preacher says the rapture is at about 6:00 PM, but he didn't specify which time zone. So basically New Zealand experienced the rapture fifteen minutes ago, and we get to watch as the world comes to an end, one time zone at a time. From what I understand, "TEH Rapture" is supposed to be a secret and no man shall know when it's coming. If that's correct, then what moron in Heaven tipped Harold off causing him to spill the beans? Doesn't this mean God's gonna' have to postpone it now... the way you would when a friend get's tipped off to their surprise birthday party and you have to hold it a week later and make it even more spectacular because of their initial disappointment that everyone forgot to celebrate it? And what kind of stupid person believes in Harold's stupid OMINOUS PREDICTIONS anyways? To what level of ignorance do you have to transcend to buy into this stuff?

So far so good Rock! It's a beautiful sunny day here in Ottawa, and there are pretty girls everywhere! I was with some Christian friends today, who don't believe that the Rapture is today (like me), and we were crossing the street and a huge swarm of flies just appeared more-or-less out of nowhere. So we joked around that "the end was near!" and that it was like the plagues of Moses, when one of my friends said "It's a good thing I'm a Christian!" and the flies just all flew away.

I feel just awful for that poor poor woman's daughters not being able to have children, but I'd sure love the opportunity to help out the one on the left in any way I can.

You know what's really sad about all this? All these people are worried about something ridiculous like this, when the actual crisis that is leading to hell on earth is Japan and the idiots running the country lying about how bad the situation ACTUALLY is over there, and the rest of the idiots running the rest of the world not making this headline news every single day.

It's like everyone has forgotten about how serious it is over there and think that everything is all patched up and working fine again. People would rather believe in delusional prophecies, and doomsday scare tactics than pay attention to the real evil and world ending events going on around them like the crisis with the reactors in Japan.

Yes folks, we are screwed... because a ton of radioactive waste and crap is being tossed into our air everyday and has been since the Tsunami. Be afraid, be very afraid. Because you can't avoid that stuff. It's in your food, it's in your air, it's in your world. We need more attention focused on the real issues that are cause for concern and life threatening, instead of this mumbo jumbo in my opinion.

On a side note, I can't help but not feel any remorse for anyone who sells their house, quits their job, or kills themselves over something like this. Just in the last hundred and fifty years the worlds end has been predicted 32 times by 32 people that prey on the week and gullible. These poor people that listen to this non sense will have nothing after today. It is their own fault but I still feel bad for the kids of these parents that are making the decision to hand over their homes, college funds, and life savings. These people gave everything to Harold Camping's 'Campaign'. That is the only tragedy in all of this. I honestly don't know... in my prior knowledge at the moment... yes... however if the believers sin then they will not be "saved" unless they repent... which is what my grandparents had me and my sis do >.> Not that it's wrong, but this is just another armageddon theory...

I said it earlier and I'll say it again. Ya I feel bad for those poor saps that gave up everything and the ones that slaughtered their families before offing themselves. Who I really feel bad for is the kids that are either dead or the ones who's parents screwed their lives up forever. Those poor poor kids that are too young to make a choice and depend on their parents to make the RIGHT choices for them. They are left with nothing, their homes, their lives as they know it totally ripped from them. Their selfish parents who believe anything obviously would have thrown their own children of bridges if this man told them to. It pretty much is the end of everything for them, unless their parents smarten up and work hard to get everything back they so effortlessly gave away. Nevermind the financial part of this, what about the emotional part of this. I saw their faces in videos taken from their conventions and they look empty. The really really young ones just looked like a happy kids, no idea that the people that they are supposed to rely on are just throwing away their chances of surviving in this crazy world. I saw one lady who gave away her two daughters college funds.


I'm not saying nobody can recover from this but the chances are slim. Why? The answer is simple. Pretty much if these parents were that screwed up to do what they did in the first place then the kids probably had no chance from day one. There were plenty of normal everyday people that just gave the devils sidekick all their money.

These people don't need to pray tonight to god asking him why why why are you making us wait, they need to pray for what's right in front of them THE CHILDREN!

Sorry but this topic makes me so mad. I hate to see someone as pure as a child get caught up in an adults unpure actions.

Some of you may argue that the parents probably thought they were doing the right thing. Maybe that's so but still it never takes away the fact that these so called parents make horrible decisions for their kids based on a mans words that clearly has some issues. Why delete it. Who cares. Just change the name to doomsday. That's what it has turned into anyway. Don't lock it because it's over, lock it because the topic of religion is coming up and should not be aloud in a forum unless it's some kind of religious forum. I only say this because religion is a very touchy subject and it will cause very heated discussions. I guess even talking about it is cool but preaching would be a totally different story.
