Controlinator Cameras

Hello Everyone!
I've just recently gotten LBP2 for my birthday (8th May woohoo indeed ^^)
Due the the PSN outage i've started to create my own collection of levels for a story arc, just for you.
But i'm a little rusty so i'd appreciate any help on a problem of mine.

Problem

When sitting in a controlinator and taking control of a sackbot, i can't figure out how to follow him with a camera 100%.
It begins to work but after i walk out of the area it reverts back to my real chartacter.

I place the camera within the sackbots microchip and turn player tracking to 0%.

PS: I might have trouble having the camera shift to a far away point when entering a controlinator and remaining there.
So Game Camera, not Movie.

There are two ways to come at it.

1. Use a movie camera with controller inputs allowed in its tweak menu. To turn off the movie camera and return to the game camera activate another movie camera with a hold time of 0 (I only mention this because it's a problem I had when first using sackbots and movie cameras).

2. Use a chunk of 0% brightness hologram with the player's controllinator mounted on it and a follower set to follow a tag on the sackbot.

Hey Black-Toof! Artists World is one of the first levels I hearted on lbp1. Glad your back on the game.

As for your sackbot trouble, this may help you hopefully...since im not to good at explaining things.

If it is a versus I suggest you use a movie camera and switch it off with another if need be.

Otherwise the follower method works great!

Thanks guys,
It looks like the follower technique is the most reliable, i'm unsure i want my real sackboy to be following the fake one as he's got to appear back where he was when he's finished. But i may be able to work something out, I'll just go and see if i can work something out now.

You may have already come to this conclusion, but... why not just have a second follower on the holo that turns on at the end of the level and have the tag back at the start where you need it? Similarly you can turn the holo's visibility on and off too... But i'm sure this was obvious... Just wanted to be in the slightest bit helpful 2011-05-13 17:47:00

Yes, and followers are fast one set to maxmimum speed and acceleration. Plus the camera will have a nice fast transifiton between the bot and the sackboy.2011-05-14 03:16:00
