My favorite objects to collect in story mode were the Bits and Bobs. I like realistic objects in unrealistic enviornments. It would be amazing if we could make our own.2011-05-10 16:44:00

I like this idea and it could possibly be very simple with like an bring object out and in and curves 2011-05-10 16:53:00

if this happens, get ready for physics hell! most of if would break the way lbp functions. it couldn't work. hey hey hey wait, i love the idea, i just don't see how it could work.2011-05-12 06:59:00

The issue with this is how it would be possible. The shape editing tools we have are fairly simple because most of the math of object creation, vertices, polygon counts, and points on shapes is already done FOR us by the PS3 while shaping an object, because we are cutting away basic shapes in a two-dimensional layer. If you could see the frame of an object while you were editing it, that frame would be spastically mutating with even slight changes to its overall shape because the game is calculating the simplest way to construct the object in the shape we desire.

If we delve past that sedond dimension editing however, we are now no longer simply telling the game "We want it to be this shape", we are now directly interacting with the vertices and points on the object to make, say, a ball or a boat hull, in your example. This is a complex process and most people would simp-ly not understand how to do it, even if the options were avalable. You are no longer changing coordinates on the X/Y axis, but now on the X/Y/Z axis, and its not easy to master the ability. While it would be a nifty feature, it would be nigh impossible for most people to grasp.

What if we just let it in the x,y, axis'. like we could make a hill like top in the back layer bottom in the front if we only used xy and stayed within the layers.2011-05-12 21:50:00

Am I the only one who understood everything about that relevant post?

They went with a simple logic system but it's powerful too, why not a simple 3D way to edit...

hit start theres a option X/Y and Z switch to Z it goes to a side view and you edit it as you currently edit X and Y it would be a simple 3D way tbh

How many times i told this i don't know but whatever you will have 3D editing tools with wont change fact that LBP using multi layer 2D physics model, as long you can't put objects between current layers as long 3D editing won't be worth implementing because physics glitches it could cause. For exact same reason when you scale a ball it become flat or eliptic across defined layers.

In otherwords what you asking is equvilnt to making LBP full 3D game, or else i misunderstod you and you mean have 3 perspective views for each direction without changing how lbp level structure is build

Exactly what this guy is saying is how its impossible to make a pyramid.
what could be an easier way is to be able to add specific points on the top or front of an object and be able to pull them out or push them in however you please.
