Hi, I am going to publish this level; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIZ6WCW8Ccg a soon as PSN is up and running agian, but I wonder if anyone has any good suggestions for how I can make even better? I also wonder what you think of the level. If you like it, it would be nice with a comment also on YouTube. Have a great day! | 2011-05-10 10:51:00 Author: Unknown User |
I think it looks really great! I love how you have placed your slot machine next to the arcade cabinets in the cosmos background! Really helps to set the atmosphere of the level Perhaps you could try adding a bit of movement to the Movie Cams in the beginning of the level? Could be some slight panning or 1% camera shake to keep it interesting to look at? Do you use an un-modified Randomiser for the 3 slots, or have you added logic to actually make the pattern random when you replay the level? If it isn't random, I fear people will loose interest in a level like this fairly quick Anyway - a very good day to you too, sir EDIT: You might want to put your level in the Level Showcase (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?40-Level-Showcase) section instead. I know it's annoying, when you still haven't gpt a lbp.me link for it due to the servers being down, but it's there people from this site go when they want to discover cool, new levels | 2011-05-10 15:08:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
hey that's a nice score counter you got there... i wonder where you got the idea? I'm so excited to play the final version of this! I'm glad you finally got everything working. The only thing that could make it better would be to add either another row or multipliers with the ability to bet more (so you can bet 50 but win 5x if you hit). | 2011-05-10 15:15:00 Author: shane_danger Posts: 283 |
Looks like a really great start - stylish, simple, everything a slot machine should be! One suggestion I could make is perhaps a nudge button? To make it more involving than just pulling the lever. I also like shane's idea of a multiplier - the more you bet the more you win. Apart from those ideas, I truly dont know - but I love the concept! I'll second what slaeden bob said as well - dont be afraid to post you level in the showcase, and you can always update with a lbp.me link when you publish | 2011-05-10 15:27:00 Author: rialrees Posts: 1015 |
I really like it!! Perhaps a few more bells and whistles, like SFX on wins an losses, but that is what it is: bells and whistles. You captured the essence perfectly. I knoww hat I am going to play when psn is back up. | 2011-05-10 19:12:00 Author: Antikris Posts: 1340 |

It's a very cool creation, really well done. But I have to admit, other than being really cool, I'm not sure what the point if the level is. Does it take some kind if skill or timing? Just wondering. I wouldn't be surprised if you get a lot of unhappy faces cause the players don't get much to do. Often times, players are very appreciative of the time and imagination?perspiration that goes into making things. So, don't take it too hard if people dislike it simply because it was out if the norm. Nicely done. Good luck with your publish. | 2011-05-10 21:49:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
honestly i like it but have a few questions like can i raise the bet instead of to for a better chance of winning and as cymbol said is there a timmer that lets me select them or is it randomized to come out. the level is nice a casino style looks good and the background choice was great to match the theme of the level. if the machine is done just add minor decoration details like the ending like a small casino room also instead of just landing on the score board i would rate it good when its publish good job. | 2011-05-10 22:01:00 Author: Unknown User |

There is a radomize that select what you get. But you will get more Sackboy than Eve f.ex. But if you press the re-play or if your neighbor plays the same level, he will get the same thing as you. This is unfortunately a weakness with LBP. Possible that the problem can be solved by connect it to the timer that counts up, for example. This I will not say for sure. But the score will still be different as some will only play for 30 seconds, the second in 20 minutes. I will also make a nicer ending of the level. | 2011-05-11 00:31:00 Author: Unknown User |

Thanks for feedback. Can I put it on Level Showcase when I not have lbp.me-link? You can, but as far as I know you then won't be able to edit the lbp.me level badge in afterwards - that has to be present the moment you create the thread. I can therefore understand if you want to wait for the servers to get back online And from what I could tell from your previous posts, you just use the regular Randomiser? Until Mm fix the randomisation, you have to add some esternal logic to ensure proper/better randomisation. You could for instance use the moment the player pulls the handle? Simply have a Not gate wired into itsef and into your Randomiser set to Pattern Override. Then make wires carying the signals from the Randomiser go through an empty Microchip, and only turn on this Microchip, when you want to generate a new random sequence. This way the Randomiser will constantly randomise at 15Hz, and the precise moment the player pulls the handle will affect the resulting sequence generated. EDIT: I'm sure you can also come up with alternative approaches or scour this forum for other ways to achieve a better randomisation. Re-EDIT: And I think your level would reach more players, if you can decide how big the size of your bet is and if the randomisation is working properly. Real life gambling addicts will surely be hoocked on your level then Cheers | 2011-05-11 09:51:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
