Microchip Insides visible in play mode

Archive: 16 posts

Wouldn't it be a lot easier to make tutorial levels about logic if we could have the inside of a microchip visible in play mode?

Discuss!

(I'm not wasting my time writing an entire essay on this since you get the point already.)

Not tested, but I swear there was an option to have 'electronics' visible. Does this do anything?2011-05-09 20:58:00

Can't you take a picture of the circuit boards in create mode and stick it in the level?2011-05-09 23:15:00

You could just mount the logic on a piece of cardboard or something.2011-05-10 00:12:00

yeah good point, take it out of the microchip. maybe even take a pic of the inside of a microchip and stick it on a piece of glass, then put all the logic on that to show.2011-05-10 07:42:00

Slightly unrelated, I make most of my complex logic on cardboard because microchips tend to lag with lots of wires. Something to do with the wire pathing makes it lag.2011-05-10 07:45:00

=(:O..............(::::}= who likes my sideways giraffe??... and on the related topic..... yeah the wires on a microchip sometimes cross strangely, like overlap or do a circuit of the microchip before entering the input.2011-05-11 18:51:00

ah good idea, that lag annoys me SO MUCH its unbelievable.

you know you can sticker the blue circuitboard material green then it looks like a circuitboard, and just make all the logic visible

Not like that's exactly what I said or anything...

If you don't want to lose your logic when taking it off your microchip, simply select it all and make a copy.

This would take the hassle out of tutorializing, as well as help with play testing A LOT (as well as lessen hassle for logic gumbling)

This is wanted, but unforturantly, not needed

You could probably group select and copy the entire gizmo the group tweak it be visible and put it on a material. I believe this would be the fastest if it allows you to group tweak different gates and stuff. Haven't tried but I'm sure it will work.2011-05-14 07:36:00
