R1 commands

I'm trying to make doors so that when you stand to the side, in front of the "control panel" and press R1, the door opens.
So far, I have a player sensor hooked up into an AND gate, and have it so that when the AND gate is activated, it switches between opening and closing the door but I can't figure out how to make it so that I can press R1 Without using sackbots, or needing to enter a controlinator.

I'm not even sure if this is possible, or if it's just so simple that I'm overlooking the solution.

Any help is appreciated

Controllinators have a remote control setting, set that to receiver, detect nearest player. It decides who is the nearest upon spawning, and the player in control won't change until they die.
I guess just hook up the R1 output and a player sensor to and AND gate.

This will work but might get wonky when more than one player is present. It appears this option of the controlinator is bugged, causing players who are not near it at all to control it from a distance.

Not a bug, just the way it's handled. The player controlling the controllinator first (ie, whoever is closest to begin with) will remain in control until they die, or the object is destroyed.
If they die, control will shift to the next nearest player to the controllinator. I do wish they'd sort this out or add some player specific options to this and followers (recieve input from player 1, follow player 3 etc).

This shouldn't be an issue since the player has to press R1 AND be in the designated area. It should all work out

Glad to help, I actually used the same setup to make a player speed restriction. It does crap out in multiplayer though, so be wary

I just played 2 player, and only I could control the door, not my guest, but it shouldn't be to big of an issue since said door(s) are located inside the safe, and only certain people will be given access...
