Giving Fames

Archive: 9 posts

Hey, i am LittleMan. I am known as hamorgan at LBP1&2.
I am just gonna feedback an idea, called Giving Fames.
You can go to others profiles on LBPCentral, and give fames.
I mean,
Like, when you go on a profile on LBPC, it will say "Give a Fame to this member?"
If you press Yes, you give 1 fame. It will say "You've just gave 1 fame."
You can't give fames to yourself, otherwise you are hacking.:tophat:

If only we had such a wonderful system! Do you think we could call it "Thanks", though?2011-05-07 20:19:00

2. "Thanks" and Reputation

If you come across a post which you find particularly helpful, you may wish to express your gratitude to the user who posted it. However, rather than going to the effort of writing a new post just to say "thanks", there's a button at the bottom of every post with the icon , to the left of the word "Thanks". If you click this button, your username will be added to the list of posters below the post who found that post useful.

Additionally, it will increase the reputation score of the poster. A user's reputation level is indicated by a number of green rep gems like this just below their avatar in every post they make. Similarly, if someone else "thanks" one of your posts, you will be notifed in your user control panel.

I dont think he means "Thanks" I think he means something other than rep. He may be indicating a fame bar to go with the rep bar. The fame bar may do something different, for instance you can now do ...... because you have 100 fame.2011-05-08 12:18:00

I mean, going to another's profile and give 1. Orginally you just go on thread comments and thanks them. You can't go to others profile. Read it again.

Give a Fame to this member?
See the member? I don't said on the threads. Its ok what you said though :s

So you mean something similar to creator hearts, but for LBPC? I think if we had another number in the LBPC postbit it would get confusing, as we already have levels, rep gems and ingame creator hearts (for those who wish to display them). Nice idea though.2011-05-11 19:29:00

Yeah, its like hearts. You have 1 fame/LBPC heart at the Fame option (at your profile). Example: Holguin86 clicks on Give Fame on my profile. I have 1 fame firstly but when Holguin gives me 1 fame i have 2 fames. Each Fame shows how famous you are on LBPC. The one with the most Fames is probably the most popular on LBPC. Maybe you can get a present when you get example 100 fames and up...
