Shreks Hidden Meaning
Archive: 8 posts
Shrek, if you don't know what it is, is the story of an ogre who has to save a princess to win back his swamp from a king, who's filled it with fairytale creatures. Well Shrek has a hidden meaning. This hidden meaning is to do with Oskar Schindler and WWII. Confused? Keep reading. Shrek is hated at the start of the film because he's an ogre, just like Oskar was hated because he was part of the nazi party. Shrek then finds his swamp filled with Fairytale creatures that have been forced to live there, just like the concerntration camps in WWII. Shrek then has to bargain with the king to get the creatures out of his swamp, just like Schindler bargained for Jewish lives. I should also mention that Lord Farquar despises Fairytale creatures, and tortures them, just like Hitler hated Jewish people and experimented with disabled people to 'find a cure'. I realise that many of you will think this is a bit far fetched, but i think tis is a true hidden meaning. | 2011-05-07 18:37:00 Author: Unknown User |
Interesting theory. Unintentional or not, the two stories do have similarities. | 2011-05-07 18:41:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |
I see the similarities, but as you stated, it seems fairly far-fetched. | 2011-05-07 18:49:00 Author: Maxi Posts: 1176 |
This is a nice theory It could be a hidden true meaning How'd you even think of all this? | 2011-05-08 09:39:00 Author: Unknown User |
Im thinking that its most likely just a huge coincedence, because the second, third, and fourth movies dont realate to any WWII stories, but I do see the major similarities in the stories. Youve got a good pair of eyes there, mate | 2011-05-09 01:42:00 Author: grayspence Posts: 1990 |
