CC said that in order to run the chat we'd need to pay 8 times as much for server or something. So I guess it'd depend on if we can raise enough money... and it'd be a continuous cost so it';s not like we can only pay once :/2011-05-07 16:43:00

No point in publishing a new spotlight if PSN's down is it? No-one would be able to play any levels!

I already opened a similar thread.
I hope CC will understand that users want this feature.
It doesn't have to be an Arrow chat, just a common chat room would work great anyway.

I thought problems with the chat is why it was removed. I remember. But Rock mentioned the money issue which I never knew about.

I honestly dont see it coming back. No biggie to me. It had issues that annoyed me. Not sure if those technical issues were ever fixed before it was removed since it was removed during one of my looong LBPC hiatus.

Talk about a hefty price tag just for chat. 8x!? Seriously!? That chat had better come with a mic, free 24/7 buffet, music streaming capability, and maybe a built in ATM and a place to park your car for good measure. Oh and make sure there's a free hair and nail salon on the side.

Main reason if I remember correctly, is no way of moderating it all the time apparently, since seems its impossible to hire chat-specific mods.
Anywho, yeah, the way teh community is all P.O'd at each other so much as of recently, I highly doubt its a good idea. xD

Ther will be ze trolling, and teh flaming, and ze hatin', it'd have it all....

ConfusedCartman could use IRC for the chat. IRC is one of the oldest chat systems around and powered most of the chatrooms on websites from about 1992 to about 2007, but it existed much longer than that. It is disappearing from the web slowly, but remains one of the best chat systems around. It is very solid. It will most likely never disappear from the internet because IRC is run by servers, and there exist a lot of them (over thousands). For it to disappear, all servers would need to instantly shut down.
There are lots of IRC servers out there which require no money at all to use, the service is provided for you for free. ConfusedCartman can build a web chat client into the website so that people don't even need to download a program to connect to the chat network. And if he's afraid the website will take a hit because of traffic to the chat, then he can just tell people to download an IRC client such as mIRC and connect to the IRC server and channel.

Here are some really good web clients (you can build this into your website to have a web page that connects to the chat (IRC) server so that your visitors can chat):
http://cgiirc.org/
http://www.pjirc.com/main.php
http://www.jwirc.com/

One of the best programs you can use to connect: (note, it tells you on every startup to pay for it - but the trial will keep working forever, and functionality is not limited.)
http://www.mirc.com/

If the trial dialog really bugs you, you could always use:
http://xchat.org/

No I'd like there to be no chat. that's why we have PSN.
Plus like some said it be hard to mod, AKA people trolling everywhere.
and like just why? we can already talk on this nice forum,
Can VM and PM one another too. adding a chat is redundant.
And it's nice when forums are simple without adding a ton of useless things making everything messy and confusing.

PMs and VMs are not the same thing of a chat Fume, since they have not the same real time spontaneity.
And the one on PS3 is annoying, and for example, when I switch my PS3 I usually want to play.

That's why people like me have MSN.
plus i been to other forums before. there are lots of reasons why
the forums always quit using them before to long after getting it.
And like i keep saying, A forum does not need to be a (All in one kind of thing)

I think a live chat would be cool, you wouldn't have to wait for a response (If you asked a question)... And we could talk to each other we never get to talk to.

If there was one (MOD FOR ME)
