Out of the five levels I've published, only one is left...

Archive: 34 posts

Whoever is griefing me is doing a mighty fine job of it. My other level from the beta "LittleBigPhantasy Part 1" just got moderated today. If it wasn't stupid enough, what happened today really takes the cake.

I was going to let this moderation thing slide and let them work its course, but I don't think I can do that anymore. This situation has gone way off the deep end.

Honestly, why should I continue to support this game if this keeps happening to me and many others without proper response?

Holy, only 1 left?
**** man, can't you just keep republishing?
I'm sorry to hear, having to work so hard on a level and let it get removed by griefers....

This is really unfair abuse of the system. MM have said they are working on the issue of moderation... but that will take time of course. So I reiterate that they should turn off the whole moderation system until such time as it is fixed. I believe the petition is still circulating?

Perhaps we need more aggressive demonstrations. Repeatedly posting on LittleBigWorkshop that we want moderation turned off. Repeatedly sending emails, locking all of our old levels with a description that says they will be unlocked only when moderation is fixed. Repeatedly uploading pictures of ourselves with a sticker saying we want moderation turned off on every level in the Cool Levels page.

Would any of this really be enough? I really don't know... but my heart goes out to you Donkey Show, this is really unfair and just plain sucks.

Nope. Even then I wouldn't want to because it's the principle of the situation.

Let's go down the list of what's been moderated.

- Red Rings of Burninating (understandable)
- LittleBigPhantasy Bestiary (what?)
- The Azure Palace (double what since it's been twice now)
- LittleBigPhantasy Part 1 (c'mon now)

That sucks man. It's probably a jealous little 10 year old, who can't make anything himself, and thinks it's funny to screw it up for other people. I remember Sony saying something along the lines of "serial griefers will be banned" though, so he should get whats coming to him 2008-12-05 18:09:00

I still have zero faith in that statement.

10 or 50 year old, it doesn't matter really. What really bugs me is that stuff like the "star rating system" gets updated yet all these levels that have been moderated unjustly ages ago still aren't back up yet.

I'm guessing that the moderation wouldn't really be a patch.. They're probably just trying to work out the ground rules for moderation..

A good idea (I think) would be to have a level have a little marker once it's been griefed once, and put back up, to show that the moderation team is fine with it.. It'd also stop people serial griefing popular levels like yours.

I would assume it is jealousy, but I am not totally sure. I could kind've understand the PSO level if Sega or whoever complained that it was copyright infringement.2008-12-05 18:42:00

Yeah, I feel bad for you. I have had one level 'moderated' and it was nothing to do with anything! Called 'Welcome to Mexico'. Basically making use of all mexican themed objects.2008-12-05 21:58:00

Yeah once a level has been taken down and put back up by the mods and cleared. It shouldn't get taken down if griefed again. Not saying they shouldn't look at the new claimed offence, but the level has already been passed by them so should not be taken down a second time until someone has taken a second look at it.

Yeah, they REALLY need to do something about this. I mean, so much potential for this game, yet it ruins it by it's bad searching system (Personally I believe that planet system is the cause of this), and seeming to automatically take a level down after so many griefs... Seems to me like it's programmed to automatically take a level down after 100 griefs or something.

The problem with that is that it trusts everyone to do the right thing by only griefing levels that deserve it. Not everyone would be nice enough for that, some are just plain jerks who do it for the lulz.

Anyway, you should at least be thankful that you're a well-known creator- most good levels get drowned out in crud like Ramp. I can understand people not wanting to continue making levels due to these duel problems...

anyway, yeah, sorry, but hey, at least you're well known... right? RIGHT?! >_<

Not that that makes it better at least... You just don't have to deal with spending hours on something only for something that took much shorter like Ramp to get billions more plays... yeah, I'm done.

I personally liked RAMP better than Azure Palace

Moderation off = Not a good idea.

I can see it now, headline on MM's official site " Moderation will be off until we can properly fix it "

I turn on my PS3, get on LBP, search " Cool Levels "

And get bombarded by adult content. So, there should be another way, best one I've heard is Miffy's idea, that they should take it down ( first time ) check if it's ok, mark it with some sort of MM logo or something, so everyone would know that this level has been cleared by MM.

If they didn't advertise that moderation was off, though, it might work just fine. It's possible no one would even notice, instead, just assume someone else's level was being moderated.2008-12-05 22:27:00

Agreed.. a "MM/Sony approved" logo would be nice (and spiffy too).. that tells everyone... "Griefs on this level will be ignored - this is a Grief-free zone!"

Of course, if you republish the level, the logo goes away (since there's new content that hasn't been checked.)

What got me to thinking lately, and worrying me is that if Sackbook can pull information off the servers, someone else can come up with a spam bot that do it in reverse (and just start griefing everything for no reason)..

I think thats a good proof you're a great creator. I really hope they fixe the moderation system before you get really tired and just trow LBP in the garbage.

Alright alright, so calling for a temporary end to moderation is not the best solution

Still, there must be something we can do besides waiting for an update which has no given date?

I think you should mention this in the playstation magazine (if possible). I honestly think you are being targeted by people who are jealous of the "success" you have in LBP. It sucks but at the very least you know your levels will be back soon enough. If i'm not mistaken they moderated rrr30000 too.

Personally I think that someone is targeting all the first page cool levels and any level (or creator) that has a chance of making it to first page.

We should all go grief ramp.

I am becoming increasingly tempted to do so

Unfortunately, aside from giving us a round of lolz, it doesn't really fix anything

The online functionality in this game is appalling. The moderation seems to either be automatic or done without any thought or review whatsoever.

I guess all anyone can do now is wait for MM and Sony to deliver the good news and announce a new moderation system. It'll come, sooner or later. Meanwhile you can go about perfecting your future levels.

If i'm not mistaken they moderated rrr30000 too.

rrr30000 levels are great but if MM moderate levels with nothing copyright in it, They clearly gonna moderate Tetris, Guitar hero and the little spaceship level.

I think you should mention this in the playstation magazine (if possible).

The assistant editor who interviewed me said they're pushing the issue to Sony. Obviously it's worse now considering I was interviewed a couple of days ago, but he asked for my account of my own personal battle with the moderation problems. We'll see how this goes.

On another note, The Azure Palace shows up twice on the new "Life in LBP 4" video on PSN. C'mon... if they're gonna use my stage for their official vids, at least take that one off of moderation. :hero:

From the Kotaku article, they said Sony.

Then I think its just a question of time before the magazine employe talk to the moderator staff. Then your level is gonna be safe.

I would be all for no moderation. I want to cuss in my levels if I feel it is deserved.
