Sonylariatisis Anonymous

| For those of you who aren't aware of what Sonylariatisis Anonymous (SA) is, it is a group formed by Metalpunks and I to help you cope with the symptoms of anger and frustration caused by the current PSN outage. These feelings are what we have termed to be a gripping illness called, "Sonylariatisis". To help you overcome this dilapidating disease, the members of SA have created the following 12 Steps. .................................................. .................................................. .............................. "STEP 1: Admit to yourself that PSN will never return, maybe you should use your ps3 for something more useful like cooking hotdogs, dust collector, or exercise equipment" - METALPUNKS "Step 2: If you have cats, just hold the ps3 close to them, the ps3 is now a over-expensive surrogate for a comb." - Luos_83 "Step three: Oh, wait i'll have to buy one first. " -nysudyrgh Step 4: Create a positive mantra to repeat over and over in your head when symptoms of the disease are unbearable. Use a mantra such as, "I am strong and I am smart, don't you see? I am beyond Sony's fallacies." - Creekey "Step 5: There must be another fist somewhere, and probably also a chuck norris, and to make it less off-topic, it should be something about sony being hacked. :/" - Luos_83 "Step 6: Don't overeact and stop panicking and making grief counselling groups. " - KQuinn94Z "Step 7: realize it's ok to have fun and overeact, you should not be ashamed of grief counseling, denial is a scary thing." - METALPUNKS "Step 8: Face the outside world since there is life "out there". The Sun really does exist! And OMGWTFBBQ it's Spring!" -AwesomeArnold "Step 9: You take your Ps3 and convince yourself that it has never been part of your life. EVER." - Craigmond "Step 10: You get yourself and friends and make a 2 people army and rage after Anonymous with my amazing GPS tracking skills followed by my Tech amazings." -Sackgirlsrule "#11 - Realize that the PS3 can still play BluRays." - jwwphotos "Step 12: See the bright side. At least your system has not YLODed due to the outage, although it probably will in a few weeks, anyways, once your gaming compulsion kicks back in." - Thegide .................................................. .................................................. ............................. That concludes the 12 steps. It is my sincere wish that these steps help the suffering Sonylariatisis sufferer and I thank all the members of SA for their input. If anyone comes to this thread and has anything they would like to add to the steps, feel free. Remember, joining SA is open to everyone! ![]() The mission of SA is to help our fellow... (hmm... oh yes) people get through this time of hardship. ![]() Have a nice day. | 2011-05-05 18:52:00 Author: Creekey Posts: 116 |

Just get off create mode trying to make use of the remaining community objects in your popit, go out for a bit or watch some TV... if you have E4 there's lots of Friends, Glory Daze, My name is Earl, The inbetweeners, Misfits, Scrubs, and some other progammes that broadcast in the morning... them ones are pretty rubbish though. ![]() Basically anything away from the PS3. | 2011-05-05 20:28:00 Author: Denim360 Posts: 482 |

| *clears throat* Sorry to be a downer, but doesn't this count as spam? Just sayin'. Ok, the situation is this: A ton of people are upset that the PSN is down and we can't play LBP online with our friends. Rather than ranting about this upset (dubbed Sonylariatisis) in the thread underneath "News and Media" called, "PSN Downtime: Reasons and Consequences", we have started this thread to discuss and address directly this of the many "consequences" of the PSN Downtime. Obviously, the upset caused is a big problem... this is a better avenue to express your anger. And I think mods will agree on that. This is a thread where we must understand the fellow disappointed PSN'er with a caring ear (or eye?). Or shall I say, understand and support the person who suffers from Sonylariatisis. It is clear that humor is a better way to deal with the anger than would be, outright anger. It is much better to create a thread about the humor involved with the upset rather than create a thread about the anger involved with the upset. *ahem* I think you might qualify to join us in the healing of the fallout that the upset has caused. ![]() I'm not having a good day I need my sponsor Who is your sponsor? Put all the steps in the OP, this is gonna be LULZ. Sorry friend. What is the "OP"? | 2011-05-05 21:44:00 Author: Creekey Posts: 116 |
| Two things I've learned through all this. Patience is something many people hardly have(including myself) Humor has been long forgotten. Do people not realize just because your mad or are posting on the forums does not mean you don't do other things in life. Online gaming or single player games are not something I have to live with. I enjoy it and it let's me stay in contact with many friends that live to far away to see all the time. It's a part of communication in my life. I don't NEED it. I chooses to WANT it. This wasn't intended for anyone here, it's just something I had to point out while I'm taking a break from walking my dog on our local nature trail, which is something I do everyday. Ya maybe I should leave my phone behind to get away FTP everything but I have people that I need to keep in contact with all day. Off topic: Is anyone having trouble with Netflix? It worked fine until today now I can't play movies, hmm. Also this can't be spam it's a general discussion in the general topic section. Maybe it is, who knows. I'm sure a Mod will let us know. | 2011-05-05 21:51:00 Author: METALPUNKS Posts: 306 |
| Not sure what number you want to put it as, but #11 - Realize that the PS3 can still play BluRays. We've been watching a few movies while packing and organizing our upcoming move the last few weeks. To be honest, I haven't bothered with LBP even before PSN went offline... | 2011-05-05 21:57:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
| I am immensely enjoying the steps where we realize that the PS3 has common, every day uses. HOWEVER ...isn't that counter-productive to the mission and goal of SA? ![]() I guess everyone heals in their own way but I recommend step number 9 as possibly the most beneficial. ![]() (For all the unhumorous senses out there, I feel compelled to mention that this post is purely for the enjoyment of others who find humor in odd places, and not in any way a serious comment or recommendation.) Oh, and my Netflix seems to be working just fine, Metalpunk. I have to enter my password and let it tell me that I have to "Successfully sign into the Playstation Network before use of Netflix is possible" (or something like that) about 3 to 4 times, but eventually it stops prompting me to sign in, and then Netflix is loaded and I can go about watching movies and such. | 2011-05-05 22:48:00 Author: Creekey Posts: 116 |
| Step 12: See the bright side. At least your system has not YLODed due to the outage, although it probably will in a few weeks, anyways, once your gaming compulsion kicks back in. | 2011-05-05 22:53:00 Author: Thegide Posts: 1465 |
| Let me be the first to say that in order to feel like a complete human being, I MUST HAVE MY PS3 AND PSN. I neeeeed my PS3 and PSN! I think I just went into a relapse. No, but really, in real life I don't... need.... a P..S... Ugh no, I couldn't say it. I just couldn't do it! ![]() | 2011-05-05 23:10:00 Author: Creekey Posts: 116 |
I always look into the bright side. I haven't heard my brother screaming at the TV screen for more than a week now. ![]() | 2011-05-05 23:15:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
| Step 7: realize it's ok to have fun and overeact, you should not be ashamed of grief counseling, denial is a scary thing. Because I denial the fact that the psn is down. Because I am ashamed of the grief counselling. Because I am scared of denial. | 2011-05-06 15:29:00 Author: KQuinn94Z Posts: 1758 |
