The Mystifier

Archive: 9 posts

Hey guys and gals. Here's a very quick little creation I made the other day. Nothing spectacular at all. My mind has just been blank lately and I needed to get at least something done.

Here it is with a generic back-story:
"Deep in the a ruined bunker following a global catastrophe, an radiating alien sign appears. Its origin; unknown. It's meaning; unknown. Does it represent demise, redemption, arrival, or nothing at all? Let's take a step back and wait . . . just wait . . ."

Now I know it obviously looks like a meteor, but use your imagination and think outside the box . . . ;]

Tell me what you think. Good day to all!

Could be a planet erupting into flame, or an eclipsed sun.

In any case it looks fantastic.

Thanks! As a matter of fact, I used to make some signatures. I never really got many "customers" though. Now that I'm getting back into it and learning a little more about Photoshop and Illustrator, I might do it again. Should I?

Wow I agree. It reminded me a bit of Portal.

Portal was actually a little bit of an inspiration. I don't have the game, but I've been watching a few videos of it, and it appears to be very interesting. Just before making this, I actually had just recreated the Aperture Science logo. :]

Thanks, Astro. I hadn't thought of an eclipsed sun.

Thanks again for the kind words!

In a more abstract sense, yes it does. I like that idea. :]

Thanks! That's a good choice of a favorite color. ;]

By the way, I also like your signature. The border and the fractals (I think is what they're called) make it really stand out. : )

On another note, if there's any kind of work anyone would like to suggest -- maybe for a wallpaper or something -- post the idea here! Nothing game related because I am poorly skilled at that kind of stuff. Just anything somewhat abstract like the piece above, I may be able to give it a try.

You could even give a little story background and I could make a piece out of my interpretation of the story. I think that would be fun and different!

Thanks again! I love the kind words from all of you!
