Resdient evil movies are a dissgrace to the game

Archive: 14 posts

basically the title

i was watching the second film and they some how they mix resident evil 1, 2, 3 up together, and the problem is someparts they do not keep true to the story, like near the end those soilders in black i think are ment to be hunk, they are ment to be like swat soilders with gas masks, but they have helmets, it also end where the first game is ment to end,

They shouldamke the next resident evil true to the story, resi4, forget the prrvious films

Movies never truly represent games. You should know that by now.

Perfect example is Harry Potter. The movies go by the book, but then in the games, it ignores the story for 3/4 of the game, and quickly gets straight to the big ending.

And resident evil movies are not a disgrace. Not a chance.

but for those who have know the story and the different eperiments of resdient evil the movie does not stick to the game, they also messed the Hunk soilder up, i forgot what they are called but i like the game version, the story is messed up so it not resdient evil, the movie could have been way better if they stuck to the game,

for me the story is confusing cause i know what monsters apeared in what game, and ik know what happens, plus the story is different they cant really do Resi4 which would be a perfect zombie horror film, as the story all there, the cut scene the enimies, luis, i heard resident evil 3 movie end different to the game so they they cant do resi 4 movie

They had to adapt the game for the film, and I think that the resident evil movies are one of the few examples of where they did change things, but it ended up fine. Overall, it's one of the few examples of a decent series of films based on a game for my money.2008-12-05 10:46:00

The first was ok, the rest were just awful. Almost as bad as Starship Troopers 2, which has to be one of the worst movies ever made.2008-12-05 10:49:00

Completely different story lines but still good. Take the game series as cannon and the movie as just pure fun. I'm disappointed there isn't going to be a direct sequel to extinction though as I want to see the clones invade the umbrella subterranean base. :/2008-12-05 11:13:00

Being an RE fan myself, I was pretty skeptical of the first RE live-action movie. Once you get past the fact that they aren't following the canon at all, it's a pretty decent set of action flicks. Still, they really would have gotten a better overall story if they had simply tried to adapt the existing RE story.

I'm very stoked for Resident Evil: Degeneration though. I hope it lives up to my expectations, but so far the trailers look good.

They bring in Claire and Leon to grab every RE fan but to be honest, I'm pretty septic about any movie coming out since 4-5 years.

The story isn't important, its all about the guns and zombies

I don't really see the problem. It's not based on any of the games, it's actually supposed to be a sequel. So they can play it out wherever they want? :hero:

An airport is fine with me. Lots of people in an airport... meaning lots of potential zombies

The resident evil films were very much a disgrace when stood alongside the games but the trouble is that the games immersed you so well that - since you were actually playing the game - the movie could never live up to it.

But I do agree that the movies themselves were poor. The first movie was ok but I definately think that the storylines were strong enough in the games to adapt them more faithfully. Weird freaky mansion is way better than "the hive"

If they make another film I think they should just make Resi 2 into a film.

Yea a agree with this, a resident evil 2 movie would be great. Start it out in the street after the truck crash and then get your self a shotgun from the fat weaponshop dealer
