Neat idea! I don't see why it won't work! Maybe, instead of a hoop, you can make a cylindrical pipe that leads to a button that opens the door...or you can just stick a button directly beneath the hoop!

I like your button idea. Would there be a way to spawn another ball if they miss? Maybe like a button they can stand on that will release another ball that they can drag onto the see-saw?

I was thinking if it was a basket with a bottom with a magnetic switch inside and you put one on the ball then when it finishes in the basket it would open the gate. therefore only the ball would open the gate and not if you say jumped in or got something else into the hoop http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/dorien360/f_picm_5dfd4a0switch.png

Haha! Yet another new idea! Slam Dunk Gates! You have to slam dunk something into the net using a jetpack. Maybe have lava on the floor to stop people running up to it. EDIT. What about a quiddich match from Harry Potter? Have a lava floor so nobody can touch the floor. Then have jetpacks so you can fly around and out a golden ball with wings on it into the hoop on a stick to win? This will unlock the gate.

If you used jet packs it would be just like that gate in a video where you lift shells and put them on a plank of wood and the gate gets pulled up i like the idea of a catapult or sound kind of cannon. About the cannon idea maybe you could do something like a water balloon launcher it is basically a rubber band attached to a platform or square the you and the further you pull it back the farther it goes and it could be a little difficulty in the shot.

WAIT WAIT WAIT great idea above love it but lay your eyes on this a mini game played by 4 ready?? stroke of genius ok so as soon as all 4 people get into my minigame the gate will close and all the people get a jetpack as soon as the last person get's a jetpack a 2 minute timer counts down then you have to pick up shells and get slam dunks with them the most goals after 2 mins wins what y0u think
