[HELP] TV HDMI 'No Signal'

Hello LBPC  Firstly, im wasnt sure where to post this... so I appologise in advance if it is in the wrong section. I was going to post it on a more tech orientated forum... but I dont really know where to go and I figured the people here are just as helpful. My PS3 doesnt want to play through the HDMI to my TV, My tv only has one HDMI port and has worked fine for ages, it is around 1 year old... So there are 3 parts here: The PS3, the HDMI calbe and the TV itself. I tried the PS3 and my HDMI cables on the TV downstairs and it works fine... no problems... So its not the PS3 or the calbes that are the problem... But wait, maybe its different for different TVs? Well... no, I tested it on my borthers TV which is exaclty the same make, and it worked fine So all evidence point to the HDMI port being borken on my TV... but it gets more confusing. SKY HD works fine throught HDMI on my TV, USING THE SAME CABLES. I am really stuck with what do to D: I have tried the trick of holding down the start button for 5 seconds till the second beep, about a thousand times and no avil... ...I just want to play Portal 2 in fabulous HD D: Any ideas? | You can try connecting the PS3 to your HDTV with the normal and HDMI cables at the same time. Then use the normal channel to change the output to the HDMI channel. Only thing I can think of now. | 2011-05-02 22:04:00 Author: gdn001  Posts: 5891 |
| Maybe the TV can't handle the output settings being sent by the PS3? Some TV's can't receive the 1080p setting, so try setting it to 720p on the other TV and see if that works. | This is happening to me too and its really frustrating. When my Ps3 broke I got a slimline and the slimline worked fine on the TV. When the old one is repaired I set it up in the same room, same position, same TV and yet no signal but it works on my brothers PS3 and the slimline works on the TV. | 2011-05-03 10:57:00 Author: craigmond  Posts: 2426 |
