Yes, because Sony's main servers are set in Japan, so it totally make sense to start it somewhere else first.
No but seriously, why does the U.S. people think they always "deserve" everything first?
Its just a little wait, calm down, not like a day or two more are gonna make a huge difference. :l

By submitting, do you mean showcasing? You can still show off your levels on this site, even if they're unpublished.2011-05-03 00:57:00

I'm pretty sure he meant on PSN...since he mentioned it and all.

@Op
The latest activity was 12 days ago, what do you mean?
Maybe link to how you know this?

If you go to lbp.me and search new levels ghost busters was the last level published. It has been like that from day one of the outage and still remains there. You'd think I'd there were levels being published it would show up on newest levels. In the past it would change eveytime you hit refresh. As far as North America getting it first, who cares. It's coming and it will be running soon. I swear patience is something long forgotten by Americans. I am guilty of being impatient from time to time. Waiting a little longer is no biggie when it comes to this, we've been waiting for a while anyway so add a day or two.2011-05-03 02:45:00

...but yeah I'm not mad at them, they can take their time PSN is free after all... unless you have + or Apps that cost money of coure.

As awkward as this sounds, I'm a bit ashamed to say that I'm from the U.S. Most of things I wanted to say have already been stated above, but I do want to reiterate the fact that Sony has every right to open up the Japanese servers first if they had a choice. It's not going to be the end of the world if the North American servers aren't opened before the other regions. -_-

Patience seems to be dying in our culture of instant gratification.

Qrii_Nakari is right our patience is unbelievable quickly tested. PSN goes down for a short period of time and we start to get impatient. Well thats what it seems like at my school. But regarding the levels I keep going onto LBP.me because thats part of my regular routine and the latest activity hasnt changed so I think we can be assured that no levels are being published. Besides even if any were they wouldnt get any plays so it would just be impractical to publish a level during the current downtime.2011-05-03 10:22:00

Main servers, you know, where the hacker got access to everything, yeah, they're set everywhere, but the main MAIN server all are connected to is in Japan.

Actually in the press release Sony said the PSN servers were located in San Diego...

Following a criminal cyber-attack on the company’s data-center located in San Diego, California, U.S.A., SNEI quickly turned off the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services,

And S.N.E. (Sony Network Entertainment or something like that) is responsible for PSN and they are a US based company.

Just want to chime in with my view on the outage...

I'm a U.S. citizen living in Tokyo. We use both Japanese and U.S.-based accounts for our family.

Since the hack occurred in the U.S., and data show that U.S.-based accounts outnumber the next country nearly 5 to 1 (with about 40 million U.S. accounts, 9 million U.K. accounts, and in third place 7 million Japan accounts), I think it's fair for Americans to look forward to the U.S. network being up with equal if not more enthusiasm. More than that, it's likely a lot of international users have at least one U.S.-based account to enjoy playing against U.S. players or gain access to the earliest versions of demos. It's in everyone's interest for the U.S. servers to be online as soon as possible. Although there is a polite way and a rude way to express this hope.

I have seen no activity on the Japanese servers as of 23:08 Wednesday May 4th (Tokyo time; GMT +9) but I will go and check just now to see if they're up and running. It might not mean much to anyone who doesn't have a Japan account, but I think we should all be very happy if it's online again. It means the European and American servers should be online within hours! And if not... we can all quickly sign up with Japan accounts and play on Home or download a few fun demos to kill the time.

Update: Japanese servers are still down. No need to be jealous.

Silverleon is a prejudice nationalist. If you don't know what that is, it's like racism but for countries. I know your thinkin, "He be Trollin!" but wait. I only say this cause I am offended.

Naw, au contraire, i just don't care for nations or such separations, sure, I won't say I feel 0 pride about my birth place, but I'll try to defend and attack all equally as I see fit.
I do not post of mere speculation or out of mere prejudice, but out of experience and facts, I've met A LOT of U.S. people that think they deserve foreign stuff before other countries do, that's why I post that, nothing about national country racism or whatnot.

I'm sorry, but I'd have to agree with Silverleon here; I've seen plenty of cases in which that has happened as well. Although, I do think it's agitating to see your own people doing that, but it's even more frustrating when the people of the United States is being associated to these people who post the wrong things to say. :/ There ARE the exceptions. They seemed to be overshadowed by the ones who gain attention by "whining."

Had Vanok not say anything about "America getting it first," Silverleon would not have said that. At least I don't think so... No offense, Vanok.

I am severely nationalist against all those who are from Yes.
Silverleon your country sucks and I hate your culture.

I would consider myself a patriot but I don't think the U.S. deserves anything first, especially in this case with the servers.
Worldwide releases and worldwide reboot of the servers, even if it would take longer than a "test run" or whatever they would do if they did turn them on in one specific country which they are probably not even going to do anyway.

I don't really mind that it's down that much. I've worked very hard on a level that I think is fantastic by my standards, and I played Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the first time in ages yesterday.2011-05-08 17:18:00

I must concur... Wut?

I was unaware that Yes was a country. Also, considering the fact that Silver's time zone is in central US and Canada, I dont beleive its quite possible for him to live anywhere except those two places.

Wow, some observant folks here...
Silverleons location states he is from Yes.
The thing that shows a little info, on the left of the screen.. under his picture.
Get it now...?

It would be better to specify at least a country or even North America, and ATMLVE your location is much more ridiculous. I'm sure typing out your country would take less time than spamming the keyboard, especially if it were an abbreviation.

Why is it that all threads have around 5-10 serious posts commenting to help the player asking the question, then towards the end it becomes more of an argument, random posting/spamming and/or off topic talk.. Just something I noticed.

But Japan servers are apprently online, as for US and EU, i don't think they are. As for publishing levels, if there are any being published, most likely japan which would further suggest the rumours are true, otherwise, I think you were mislead with false information.

Hope this helps,

Jokes aren't typically funny after explanations. this isn't funny either "jkhgrfhergljhrtehgjrgs;hiunscihowrieie8oxwgniocuwr tghciowheonxigcghiunwxoguoiwugmhoinurtwhirbiohrwoi" why not just put nothing?

Someone accused silverleon as a nationalist somewhere in the thread, i found this to be funny considering hes too scared to say where hes from. If you don't specify your country you can hide behind a supposed unbiased opinion. Although hes probably American.

Also this being a LBP fansite in which he is on often, it baffles me why people block their LBP.me accounts. I can not find a logical reason as to why anyone would do that.

and this thread should have died forever ago, even though I'm not helping.

Jokes are quick and simple, they're not funny if you have to explain it.
Funny you mention that as well, since my location is "Yes" as a joke as well, since I'm simply stating I do have a location, not that I live in "Yes."

" If you don't specify your country you can hide behind a supposed unbiased opinion. Although hes probably American."
..what?
How does that make sense at all?

Its rather foolish to assume I don't say my country of origin to be biased, as placing my country more than likely will result in people thinking I may defend a place or attack it because of my nation, thus placing it may make me look more biased than if I don't post it.

For example, if I defend a country people may think "Oh well you're from here, of course you're gonna defend it" or "Oh you're from there, so its obvious you'd attack it."

Besides, what makes you think I'm American?
Any proof, reason, source?
If not, don't speculate for no reason.

I do not post my LBP.ME acc since I don't have any of my actual levels published yet, so I see it as pointless to placing it.
Not to mention that I don't see what does that have to do with anything, and do keep in mind its optional and not obligatory for a reason.

Please do think before replying and not just post out of spite towards anyone.

Wow, some observant folks here...
Right back at ya, dude, seeing as you misinterperted pretty much everything.

"I am severely nationalist against all those who are from Yes.
Silverleon your country sucks and I hate your culture."

I didn't even really mean to offend silverleon with this and also the assumption I made about him living in America is me poking fun at my own country, which I often do because I feel like it is only fair to make fun of your own country. Plus I asked his profile if it was from America and it responded, but If you are not I apologize for insulting your birthplace.

" as placing my country more than likely will result in people thinking I may defend a place or attack it because of my nation, thus placing it may make me look more biased than if I don't post it."
This is actually what I meant when I mentioned the supposed unbiased opinion.

Anyways I only hate that people block LBP.me because I am curious to things besides levels like reviews and maybe some comments or pictures. That is all, I'm just interested. I will often heart creators even just for their reviews.

I am sorry Silverleon and ATM for going off about your locations. I should respect peoples privacy.

Timezone based assumption although there's enough countries in that timezone to make it still guesswork.
