Bot Speed logic
Archive: 14 posts
Well I make Speed logic for my bot but it’s little buggy you should be able to recreate what i did no problem with the pics below. Here’s the fist one http://www.freewebs.com/chaoswinds/Sozo/Speed%201.jpg And below here’s a somewhat better one that senses Tagged floor and walls Edit: Oops, forgot to say on the 0.5 timer it's also Input action: Forwards/backwards. just like it was on the first pic http://www.freewebs.com/chaoswinds/Sozo/Speed%202.jpg Anything I did not list in the pics just means it’s basic settings. So I was wanting help on how to make this the best it can be and to have less bugs. I’m tired messing with it. *mew | 2011-05-02 01:32:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
back again what are you trying to accomplish here with this logic? | 2011-05-02 04:59:00 Author: Unknown User |
back again what are you trying to accomplish here with this logic? Ever play or heard of Sonic type levels? look at the movers. they make you run fast. this is a fast running system with cartoony sounds included | 2011-05-02 05:07:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
why don't you just utilize the speed settings on the Sackbot behavior chip? then you can wire up the cartoony sounds. ? | 2011-05-02 05:17:00 Author: Unknown User |
why don't you just utilize the speed settings on the Sackbot behavior chip? then you can wire up the cartoony sounds. ? umm because sackbots can't go past 150% speed that way. and 150% speed is really slow if you want the bot to look fast Edit: it is to bad Bots can't go past 150% speed on the bot chip tho... i don't know why they maxed it out so low :/ | 2011-05-02 05:22:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
okay, i'll put it together and take a look at it | 2011-05-02 05:39:00 Author: Unknown User |
so what exactly is the bugs that you are incountering? | 2011-05-03 22:23:00 Author: Unknown User |
so what exactly is the bugs that you are incountering? the stopping sound goes off when the chip is turned on. it should only go on when you are suppose to run then stop. but this was the best way i could make it, so not sure if it can be fixed. and it seemed like there was other small bugs... but i can't remember them right now. | 2011-05-03 23:13:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
ok and what are the movers set to? | 2011-05-04 00:42:00 Author: Unknown User |
ok and what are the movers set to? Set to? it don't really matter but i had set them to 15+ and 15- oh and 100% acceleration | 2011-05-04 00:52:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
Why is there such a long target time before the sound is allowed to be played? To ensure that the player has run a very long distance? Here is what I've come up with. I've decided to remove the wire from the XOR gate and connect it to the NOT gate as you see in the picture. I think it would be better if you kept the microchip active. Although, I'm sure someone else out there might find a... less-clunky solution. By the way, this is the microchip with the tire squealing sound in it. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a373/Mirage-Leopard/Scraps/CorrectingtheSound.jpg?t=1304490036 | 2011-05-04 06:39:00 Author: Qrii_Nakari Posts: 204 |
Why is there such a long target time before the sound is allowed to be played? To ensure that the player has run a very long distance? Well yeah. why would you make tire squealing sounds after only taking one step then stopping? it's because you'd even in a cartoon sense would only made that sound after have been going very fast then stopping. i if i ever use this speed logic will add logic so the bot won't run at max speed soon as you push the button. it'll take a small bit to get to max speed. and thanks the sound seems to be less buggy now. to bad i have to tag all my floors and walls in order to make everything work right. but there's no better way sadly. PS: you forgot to tell me you set the 2.0 forwards/backwards timer to not invert anymore | 2011-05-04 09:42:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
Oops! I'm sorry, I completely forgot! D: I actually deleted the previous counter and timer to find the solution, so I assumed that you would know if I didn't put anything I meant for those parts of the setting to be default. ^^; And yeah, I understood why you'd need that time gap after I posted up the picture and messed with the sackbot a bit more. >_> I should've deleted that long ago, but oh well... At least it's not that buggy for you anymore. | 2011-05-04 09:51:00 Author: Qrii_Nakari Posts: 204 |
