The Neglected Crisis: A Documentary on the Honduran Water Supply

Archive: 2 posts

It just so happens that my cousin spent about 7 months filming, scripting, and producing a near-professional documentary on the problem of unclean and polluted water in the Honduras. He has been on a few mission trips there and decided to produce this in his spare time. It's short, lasting roughly 15 minutes, but it sends a message and provides a detailed synopsis into the dire water situation.

So, what is your definition of a crisis? And what do you think can be done to improve the situation and give these people clean water and a healthy lifestyle?

I can't seem to get your video to play.
Because of this I won't be able to respond in terms of specifics but I'll give general ideas.

The problem seems to be that if it doesn't affect them directly, people don't care.
I'm guessing the people of Honduras don't have fresh water. (correct if incorrect)
It reminds me of the situation of the Ganges river in India. The problem in Honduras though, it's not religious to them, so it IS a problem.
When people are using one water source for all of there everyday needs, you can imagine the about of bacteria being spread.
People shouldn't have to deal with these type of conditions today. I'm not saying you should send the national guard in there, but something like the peace-core should be organized.

I don't think you'll be seeing this unfortunately because of money priorities for countries.
Unless there's profit to be made, people don't want to pay up.

I'm glad you shared this, I didn't know this was going on.
