Counter increment 1 = .03r secs?
Archive: 7 posts
This is something I thought was bizarre but perhaps could be of some use.. if you have a counter going into a .1 second timer each increment of the counter counts for .03 seconds.. Have a timer (for best results) of one second that resets itself go into a counter of 1 that resets itself going into a .1 second timer and watch. It takes 3 ticks of the counter to fill up the .1 timer... weird. Sorry if this has been posted or sorry because this probably isn't very useful just interesting... | 2011-05-01 01:52:00 Author: Dortr Posts: 548 |
its because a 1 shot timer set to reset itself only turns on 4 1 frame of animation. 1 frame of animation is shorter than .1 sec | 2011-05-01 03:21:00 Author: Unknown User |
But why wouldn't they just make the frames .1 second since its already the min time? i guess its not a big deal.. but it could be applied.. just imitated just as easily.. | 2011-05-01 04:57:00 Author: Dortr Posts: 548 |
animation can be anywhere between 20 to upwards of 100 frames per second. .1 second if it was made 1 frame per .1 second it would only be 10 frames per second. you may or may not be able to tell a difference but the point is the animation wouldn't be as smooth. that is why in some instances it is necessary to include timers to increase latency. for instance if something needs to happen in order for something else to happen...well it happens immediately but if you need something to happen before something else but do to wiring the other one is happening first...well a timer could be useful | 2011-05-01 07:21:00 Author: Unknown User |
I think that could be used though since the .1 does become active only when its full. If that counter was hooked into something else it would activate every time the counter is activated as well as every 3rd time something else would be active.. that would be using the .1 timer as a 3 increment counter though.. they would be pretty much interchangeable. | 2011-05-01 19:02:00 Author: Dortr Posts: 548 |

Yeah, I can see uses for that. It would be more efficient and dependable just to use every third port on a selector cycling at 15hz though. | 2011-05-01 20:36:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
it was a good discovery none the less dortr...don't become discouraged because people already new about this | 2011-05-01 20:50:00 Author: Unknown User |
