The Royal Wedding
Archive: 60 posts
Hallo guys. If there's any british folk browsing LBPC you may be familiar of the royal wedding with Kate Middleton and Prince William that happened today at 11:00. Did anyone watch it? I think that Prince William was changing his mind about the whole thing during the weding, but I could be wrong. xD Discuss | 2011-04-29 15:35:00 Author: Denim360 Posts: 482 |
i wached it! And it's not Kate Middleton anymore, but it was cool, we had a party! | 2011-04-29 15:44:00 Author: Squidge99 Posts: 203 |
I watched it! It was so beautiful and the whole thing was adorable. XD I don't think either of them changed their mind at all. The both looked very nervous during the actual wedding but that was most likley because they were being watched by millions and if they made one slip up the entire Royal Family would be shamed or something. But right after they walked through those doors of Westminster Abbey and you could see the new Princess Catherine in such awe and joy, they lost all their nervousness and just enjoyed the best day of their lives! Sorry this post was so cheesy! | 2011-04-29 15:48:00 Author: Plasmavore Posts: 1913 |

I caught the highlights this morning online. It was pretty. I like that Kate went for a simple(ish) dress and I thought William looked pretty darn kingly in his uniform. I'm not a huge Brittish Royal fanatic but I can appreciate the history and ceremony of the day. Btw, did anyone else find the Bishop's message about marriage a little outdated and sort of creepy? Maybe that's just my American sensibilities speaking. | 2011-04-29 16:49:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |

I have a question for those who had a party for the wedding: Why? You are not involved and it will not affect your life. Lets celebrate the wedding we are not even attending! People all over the world get excited because the person who is 3rd in line to be king of a small country in the middle of nowhere is getting married like any other person ever. There's no point since the monarchy does nothing anyway. you could see the new Princess Catherine in such awe and joy No... Really? Maybe because she got married. I guess you didn't see Charlie Brooker's rant on 10 O'clock Live last night then? Charlie Brooker = God | 2011-04-29 17:08:00 Author: KQuinn94Z Posts: 1758 |

To celebrate this joyous day, let's take a trip through history and enjoy some photographs together... 1913 - King George V of Great Britain, pictured riding through London with his cousin Kaiser Wilhelm II who led the Germans in the first world war... http://www.history.com/images/media/slideshow/world-war-i-leaders/george-v-and-wilhelm-ii.jpg 1937 - The Duke of Windsor (formerly King Edward VIII now abdicated from the throne) meets Adolf Hitler http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/b/b8/Duke_and_Duchess_of_Windsor_meet_Adolf_Hitler_1937 .jpg/275px-Duke_and_Duchess_of_Windsor_meet_Adolf_Hitler_1937 .jpg 1937 - Prince William's grandfather Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, attends a nazi funeral flanked by SS officers http://dottal.org/images/philip_Nazi_funeral.jpg 2005 - Prince William's brother, Prince Harry attends a party in "fancy dress"... http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090131181257/uncyclopedia/images/1/1f/HarryNazi.jpg 2011 - The average British taxpayer who paid for the royal wedding http://dudewtf.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/funny_monkey.jpg | 2011-04-29 20:30:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |

It was boring. It sucked that no other channels were showing anything so we were stuck with watching something they dragged out for about four more hours than was necessary. in my opinion the only crowns that matter are LBP crowns... no, seriously, i have loads of respect for all of the people with monarchic countries, but i think those guys didnt won the crown, they just had the luck to born with them, and it could happen a king not worthing his crown... im just sayin' in LBP you have to do something special to win the crown, thats the way it should be | 2011-04-29 22:39:00 Author: nosemomkey Posts: 414 |
I was invited, but I had something more important to go to... I thought it was good though - if a little long. It's nice to see the British traditions happening - and helped to create a happy atmosphere, within all the negativity in the world happening at the moment. Shame that on the news at 10 that's all there was - the coverage on the tornado in Alabama only lasted around 5 minutes before going back to the wedding. | 2011-04-29 22:51:00 Author: standby250 Posts: 1113 |

Lol I think the queen should of sang God save me during our national anthem She doesn't. The monarch doesn't sing God save the Queen/King. It would not be 'proper'. Anyway, I thought it was a nice ceremony and a great day. All of the hype was annoying but the 'tat' that's being sold to commemorate the event is ridiculous. I'd list the objects but this is a site with younger members. So I'll stick with the biscuit tin. Really? Is a biscuit tin really worth getting to remember something I've got recorded on Sky+? | 2011-04-29 23:42:00 Author: Jedi_1993 Posts: 1518 |

There's no point since the monarchy does nothing anyway. Our monarch (the Queen) is 85 years old.....what would you have her do? Our monarch is the countries figurehead, not a lot is allowed of her but she does represent all that is British and that's enough. It's not like they choose to do nothing, we do live in a parliamentary democracy afterall... The duty of the Monarch is to be a watchful and prudent protector of the rights of the people. She is consulted on matters of national security and finance, but she does NOT intervene in the day to day running of the nation. | 2011-04-29 23:49:00 Author: MrFunctionality Posts: 637 |

It has been a nice thing. Some English don't realize how, in the good and the bad (minorily), that ceremony is a sign of pride and a symbol for the nation. Obviously it has been marketed beyond belief, and if Will wouldn't have been Diana's son, everything would have meant and mattered way less. I guess they were nervous, lots of responsibility, and lots of people expecting lot from them... Still, they had the fairy story...the one that mere average humans would never even dare to dream, because having money for things+being a good couple=you've been chosen by God . And the Prince is really awful with a horse face and is bald, and didn't even had a comb...shame shame shame. | 2011-04-30 10:52:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

P.S I am Guessing Your A American! Are You? I think you'll find he's Irish. (says the disappointed American) but really that's not the point. So before the nation bashing continues any more, I'd like to remind everyone the topic is the wedding and not about bashing each other. Let's keep it on topic and respectful please. | 2011-04-30 15:03:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
I was watching the news and I was shocked that there was a tornado in Alabama and NASA were launching another shuttle, then I realised that the wedding coverage had eclipsed everything. :/ There were tornadoes, storms, hail, and flooding all over Southern USA, and a death toll of at least 300. As I said, the monarch does nothing. Your telling me things I know. Hey just like the President Obama in the U.S.! Admit it, country leaders aren't meant to do stuff, their job is to send lackeys to do their job, so no need to bash on the Queen, you're basically bashing world leaders in general. | 2011-05-01 01:29:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
