When psn goes back online...

Archive: 38 posts

When psn goes back online, would you publish a new level you just finished building, or would you wait one or two weeks? If I had a level ready to publish, I would wait about two weeks for these reasons.
- There will probably be a flood of new community levels in lbp2 and your new level may get less plays if any. It seems like people are spending more time in create mode now than usual so thats why Im guessing there will be an unusual flood of new published levels.
- There might not be alot people online to play all the new levels. It could take time for all the casual players to realise when psn is back online.
What do you think? Will you publish your new level as soon as psn is back or wait and see what happens?

I personally would publish not a week or two later, but a day or two later. The majority of players will realise PSN is back up the day it is, and yes, there is likely to be a flood of community levels, but if your's stands out from the rest then there will be a unusally high amount of players trying your level should it make cool pages.

I for one am losing interest every day more and more on creating in LBP2 which is sad for me because I really want to enjoy again, but every limb in my body disagrees with it so I don't

I just started a level yesterday so I don't think it'll be done by the time PSN goes back up.2011-04-28 20:49:00

Well, I have three new movie levels which I polished up in the down time so far........

But I probably shouldn't publish them the second online returns.

I thought about this too, and i might also wait a week or so.

Problem is, if everyone does this then there will be nothing to play when we return

I just want to get back online as soon as possible and eventually publish my new level

I'm either publishing mine the moment PSN returns, or never publishing at all.

Haven't decided which yet.

I finished up a survival level, but I'm in no rush to publish it.

Depending on when PSN comes back up, I have my own guess as to when the best time will be to publish, but its just my guess. It's just a throw away level, kind of like my Da Vinci's Ghost Glitch, just something I threw together in a few days. I still have a few months worth of work on my next level, so the "when to publish" issue won't really effect that one.

That's hardcore!

I say, if PSN comes back on a day that coincides with one if the Lost numbers, then you publish!

Hmm... I dont have any levels to publish, but if i did, I would wait untill the weekend it comes online. That way a flood of players will be online to finally get another taste of the serversa and play my level to its fullest 2011-04-29 00:45:00

What will happen when the PSN is back up? Well everything you think do or say will be in the pill you took on that day...

When the PSN's back up, its gonna go back down as Sony's PlayStation branch collapses due to the massive amount of damage its received legally, network-wise, and publicly. xD2011-04-29 02:37:00

I'm going to try my luck.
Ok let's see.. My guess is there with be about 100,000 levels being published. I want to see if my level will rise to the top with all that competition trying to get there as well.
Depending on if & or how bad it fails I may republish it. I will defintley Play the top 3 levels out of curiosity.

You should publish it exactly 108 minutes after PSN is restored and then republish it every 108 minutes until someone takes your place.

My level idea is Halloween based (yes, say it's quite early days to have started making it now, but at least it might get done in time that way) so even if by some chance it was done (which it ain't nowhere near) before PSN comes back online (which I doubt unless PSN doesn't conveniently come back until October) it wouldn't be suitable to publish yet anyway. 2011-04-29 08:32:00

The thing would be, no one has played any of the levels on the current cool list for more than a week. Meaning a new level will most likely appear on top of them (due to the laws of whats on the cool list), publishing as soon as psn is on and getting your friends to play, i see a lot of plays. Definitely if psn is back on the weekend. Too bad I haven't been working on my level since psn down.2011-04-29 09:41:00

Stay on Vanquish.... I'm not publishing for 2-3months. People will counter act and publish in the firsst week randomly when they have a chance, then people will publish 2 weeks after... So 2-3 months will be good.2011-04-29 16:31:00

Why not see how your level stacks up against this type of competition. If it doesn't do well then you can always republish it. Why worry2011-04-29 18:00:00

Who mentioned hearts besides you? How about sence your so against people wanting to do well on cool pages, why don't you published your level locked for a week and then unlock it.

Haha, this will be great, when PSN comes back up, everyone will publish all at ince and blow up the LBP servers!

I'll probably publish, since its just a survival level that only took a few weeks, so no big deal if it doesn't get plays.

Considering I never publish anything, I don't know. I'd say see how everything plays out on the cool pages. I can definitely see it as a great opportunity for some noobie to become famous because of his "Costume give-a-way", or whatever the current fad is. All the fad levels are the same, the ones that get popular is out of sheer luck.

And seeeing as how ANY level could get on the cool pages when PSN is back up, ANY level WILL get popular.

The community these days -_-. Well, most of them.

Anyway, my question is when will PSN actually be up ._.

I"ll play your level. The level I'm planning on publishing is also of high difficulty (although I'm trying to make it easier for those who may complain about it. :/ ), so I may also receive the low end of the stick.

The level's nowhere near completion though, so I may not be able to jump on the bandwagon and publish as soon as the PSN comes up...

It'll be awesome playing all these new levels, but I'm pretty sure SONY is in some deep ...well, you know... and I'm scared we'll be waiting possibly even a few more weeks to get online back. But the longer we wait, the more levels we'll get to play those first 2-3 days the servers are back up.2011-04-30 20:16:00

I don't know about you guys, but I've really been polishing up my h4h level... NOT!

I do have 3 levels just waiting to be uploaded though, just as long as the LBP servers don't explode from all the new levels. I can't wait to see all the great levels that come out

It'll be nice having a variety of good levels to play when we do finally get online back.

I would wait till this 'tidal wave' calms down, and during that time, I'd go back and do touch ups to make my level even better. 2011-05-01 04:45:00

Is it possible the amount of levels being published at once will crash the system? I'm not sure.

Hard levels are fun, so long as they're not hard to the extent of rage-quitting.

Perhaps... But the chance of everyone logging on and publishing their levels at the same time is highly unlikely I can easily see it taking a few days before the majority of the PSN user base knows that the service is up and running again.

When PSN comes back online...
My level still won't be done.

Mostly because I prioritized Portal 2 over my top-down level recently. But I'll pick it back up later.
