Moving Sackbot and Sackboy through Hamster Tubes in multiple directions

Hi, I'm working on a level which requires sackbot to do the following with movers and hamstertubes. (see picture)

In other words, have sackbot walk across flat ground right till it reaches below the tube (which I've currently achieved with tag), suck sackbot up the hamstertube and over through the hamstertube left, then either a drop or a mover down the tube and right through a series of snake like tubes to the end (which is flat ground). I would like some sort of trigger to have the sackbot get sucked up in the vicinity of the player. I would also like the sackboy to be able to follow the bot through the tubes if possible.

If the player can follow the bot up the tubes, I would like the bot and player to move fast, as the length of the course is tedious. I've tried looking at the help pages, worked hours on the the create-a-world messing with the circuit board, tag sensors and followers to no avail. The bot itself has a giant awareness parameter of over 2000.0.

the only way i think that you can move sackboy up the tube would be to have him holding on to a sackbot.

first, make sure you give sackboy grabinators right around the tube location. i would put a tag on the wall just over where a tag sensor attached to the sackbot can see it... this way, you would have to hold on to the sackbot with the grabinators for the tag sensor to see the tag. the tag sensor would need to activate a mover that would stay active long enough to get you all the way up the tube, OR, use a follower that would see another tag at the top of the tube.

alternatively, you have two sackbots, one disguised as the player... this would allow you to put logic on the player and have them sucked up the tube.

Idea. Have different tags at each corner. Place a selector on the sackbot wired up to different followers. When it senses a tag it changes the follower, so it goes to a different tag. Add a rocket rotator to make it fly the way it is moving.2011-04-28 16:16:00

You would put a follower on the sackbot that is activated by a tag, then another tag at the top of the tube that it will follow.

is it really that simple? Anyways- back to the topic, I think it would only work if the sackbot had a grab sensor which activated the follower, so sackboy would have to grab it before it went up the pipe.2011-04-28 21:15:00

that's a good suggestion.

And it's almost that simple. You would only want the follower to activate when it sees the tag, so you'd have a tag sensor attached to the follower as well. I would use multiple tags on the way up that deactivate as the sackbot passes for fluid movement.

Or you could have a cutscene where you see the sackbot flow through all the pipes, then bounce pads appear in all the corners and they bounce sackboy.

Other than grabbing a sackbot, there's probably no other way.

Or, just by chance, you could have something follow the player then under tube the holo thing is dragged off up the pipe with movers, and for some bizarre reason sackboy might follow it up the tube. On the off chance.

Bouncepads might work (I know you can attach them to hamstertubes), probably even inside tubes if I carefully place them. I could hide them and trigger them with a lever. Bounces move fairly quickly, which is an advantage...

The Grabinator idea seems like a good option, too. It's much closer to what I want, story-wise, although considering the length of the course it's more likely to glitch. Sackbot could accidently drop and end up stuck in the pipe. Maybe a combination of the grabinator and bounce pads would be best... I would still need to figure out how to get sackbot to follow the course, though.

I'll add you shane_danger when I next get on, so you can take a look. And anyone else who wants to pick around the world, tell me. Or if you have any other ideas... Thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate it.
