How do I make a Survival level! HELP!
Archive: 5 posts
Hey guys, My first post here and I am new to LBP 2. How do I create a survival level? You know like in story mode you have the level titled 'Hedge Hopping'? You can only die once and you then get transported to a machine which sees how many point s you got and gives you the prizes and then you go to a scoreboard. How do I create those machines and set it to 1 life only and use a scoreboard? I am so so confused and need help. I have made my level but these mechanics are important to make it work. Thanks so much! | 2011-04-28 13:26:00 Author: Unknown User |
I'm not even gonna try to explain. It's best that you watch all the tutorials first. I'm assuming you haven't. You don't even have the tools needed for a survival level, they have to be unlocked through watching the tutorials. If you did watch the tutorials then I advise you head over to the tutorials section of LBPC. Not the one in the forum. Here's a link to the actual tutorials page. https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=46908-LittleBigPlanet-2-Tutorials-and-Games&highlight=Platformer | 2011-04-28 15:08:00 Author: METALPUNKS Posts: 306 |
there's a couple ways to do it. in hedge hopping, once you start the level, there is a tag activated that activates a new checkpoint. so when you die, you are taken to that new checkpoint. so you would start the level, making sure that the player cannot get back to the first checkpoint (even by just putting it too high off the ground). Then put a player sensor somewhere that would activate the other checkpoint. you can run wires straight into checkpoints. As for those score sensor machines, you'll first need to design a machine - but don't think it has to be so complex. you can simply make a box with a piece of metal grid in front of it. then you need a score sensor. hook the score sensor to a destroyer attached to the metal grid. you can tweak the score sensor to require a certain score. this is a really simple way to do it. as you get better with logic components, you'll start to experiment with more complex builds. feel free to add me if you want and i can show you some cool stuff (you know, once the network is back on.......) | 2011-04-28 15:09:00 Author: shane_danger Posts: 283 |
There used to be a really awesome video from the guys at Mm about creating survival levels (in lbp 1 but if you could do it there, lbp2 would be easy) ... one sec Ill try to find the link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsbjrXMi0AM | 2011-04-28 20:19:00 Author: Madafaku Posts: 738 |

Thank you SO much! all I needed to do was use a checkpoint! Ha! I didn't think it would have been that simple. Now I can finally play the game I created. I owe you man this helped me a lot you have no idea! Thanks!!!
