Full direction mapping?

I have not looked into it much so please forgive my naivety but is it possible to truly map "Up" "down" "left" and "right" to a stick or d-pad.. specifically in a side scrolling game not in top-down. I had plans to easily do it with and gates before the release and was disappointed to see that they were preset to the axis..

Also sackbot facing logic.. I never knew how Alic programmed which way the character was facing and attack in the appropriate direction..

any tips?

Yes this is possible. Use direction splitters to get the Up/Down and Left/Right from the single outputs on the controllinator. Expand if you need specific help.

Facing logic, is the use of a toggle for when which ever direction is last pushed, sets the animation to that direction, passed into AND gate with the attack button.

You also have to be sure to 'Disable Popit' in the controllinator's tweak menu in order to use the D-pad. It took me a while to notice it as a necessity.

As for the facing logic, TarzanBuzzyMan has it right, though I use a selector personally. Still; good luck with making it work as you want!

Well im not actually making anything with it yet due to my vandetta with sackbots.. thats why I went top down.. Lol but thanks for the info il have to mess around with that.2011-04-28 17:12:00
