3D Glitch - Foreground Disappearing?

Archive: 6 posts

Hey there,

I've been meaning to ask this for a while. For some reason, whenever I manage to get an object into the 3D Foreground layers, some of it seems to become see through and disappear, as if it isn't there. This never happened in LBP1, and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and whether there are any "overrides" (So to Speak) for this problem?

Thanks!

Yes I noticed that too.

Though it seems a little random, as most of the time there's no problem,
but in my case, I noticed that WHEN it happens, it's weither there's a (invisible) light used in front of it,
or that the extra foreground shape is made of transparent material like glass etc, or even gas... but even if I remove the light or change material afterwards, the problem is still there...

I didn't made testing more than that, but yes it happens, and it's a little annoying... :/

Yea same happens to me. I have the cotton clouds in the foreground and they are all transparent like. Also if you put it in front of any material the cloud becomes like a big shadow...very annoying.2011-04-27 02:09:00

Intersting, I think this is the same glitch I have had with thin layers in the background without the 3D. It had a gas layer that was destroyed...but it caused the wall to vanish, but all the items still remain that was attached to it. I was able to get rid of it by altering the foreground layers from an intricate large section to smaller parts. Try it out and post if it works. I would be cool to know if the invisible is the cause.2011-04-27 06:20:00

I don't really to push into the foreground that much, but have maybe 3 or 4 layers deep with a flickering LED set to not visible that is sitting in a trashcan (something in it is on fire) and haven't experienced this. Again I should stress I use the foreground sparingly, and this is in maybe the first extra layer and is only a small item, not a giant element.

Is it happening at a certain point, like the 10th layer or something?

I'll try and do it again, but remove any lights, gas or glass - and I'll let you know!

I'm not sure about when it happens - I mean, I hardly ever delve too deeply into the foreground either. The concerns I'm having is around 1 or 2 layers in.
