Remote Control Sackbot Not Working?

Hey guys, I recently got onto LBP2 to work on my level series, where you control the hero, which is a remote control sackbot. But when I pull the hero from my captured objects page, the hologram and transmitter Controllinator are not there, and what's worse, I can't place a new piece of hologram over it, it makes the annoying error sound and doesn't place it.
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix? Please help.

I assume you're using the method where the player follows the sackbot around but is invisible. You don't have to place the holo right where you need it. Once you put the follower on it it will follow the tag on the sackbot so it doesn't matter if you can't place it right over the sackbot.2011-04-25 02:17:00

You cannot create hologram inside of a sackbot, like you can inside of other materials. Just make the hologram, then move it over the sackbot. Simple.2011-04-25 09:44:00

Hi there Flyinhawiian.

It sounds like when the sackbot object was capturered, it was just the sackbot part and not the controllinator/holographic setup.

You may need to remake the sacbot setup. The reason your probably getting the error sound mate is because your trying to place over an already created and stamped down object- Thy selecting and copying the sackbot and place the copy and use that instead.

If your not able to make the controllable sackbot setup, heres how-

Place either a blank sackbot down (or the one you have got- lets call him Bob). Open up 'Bob's' base chipboard and see if he has a tag and a controllinator on him? If not, place these on his chipboard. Set this controllinator to REMOTE CONTROL: Receiver, and set its reciver tag to be, 'Blue for example-If its already set to a colour, leave it set'.

Now, create a block of holographic material 5 high x 5 wide. (IF for some reason its not letting you place it directly over the sackbot just make it 'thin' instead of 1 layer thick and place it in front of the sackbot. On this 'holo block' place a microchip and on this chip place a follower. Set the follower to Speed-100, Min Radius-0, Acceeration-100, and set it to sense the tag on the sackbots basechip (either the colour one you placed, or ther one that was already on 'Bob&apos. This way the follower will match the sackbots movements (NOTE:- The centre of the follower will match the centre of the sackbot exactly, be cause the matching tag will be on the sackbots basechip.

Now, on the holographic material block place a controllinator seat, set on REMOTE CONTROL: Transmitter, and seats tag to the same colour as the receiver controllinators tag on the sackbots basechip.

I ended up having to remake the sackbot and rewire it's powers but it's working perfectly, except for one thing.....my sackbot can die, but the player will not....any theories?2011-04-26 22:20:00

Maybe you could create an inverted magnetic key switch on the hologram that turns on a destroyer, and then place a tag inside the sackbot set to the colour + label of the key switch. So when the sackbot dies, this triggers the key switch and destroys the hologram and the player - although I'm not sure if the player dies.

try it out.

In LBP2 the magnetic key and key switch is called a tag and tag sensor. I'm also not sure if that will work but I would just use a game ender so when the sackbot dies it sends the player to the scoreboard. Put a tag on the sackbot's circuitboard and the tag sensor somewhere in your level. Make sure the range on the sensor is big enough and invert it's output, then wire that to a game ender. So as soon as the sackbot dies, the tag is no longer sensed and it will trigger the game ender.2011-04-26 23:16:00

If you destroy an object that a player is riding it counts as a death. Even if it is a hologram. For example, in story mode where you ride the caterpillar up the tree, if the caterpillar is destroyed you die and respawn. Same applies to a remote controlinator on a hologram.2011-04-26 23:55:00
